Team 6A Weekly Update
August 25th - August 29th
September 1st - September 5th
Labor Day - Monday, September 1st - No School!
We hope that everyone has a safe and relaxing holiday weekend while enjoying some time at Frankfort's Fall Fest. As a reminder, there is no school on Monday, September 1st due to the Labor Day Holiday. :)
Join us for our Tiger Trot 5K on Saturday, September 6th
Picture Day is Monday, September 8th
Picture day across all three schools will be held on Monday, September 8. VIP Photography is our vendor for all student photographs again this year.
VIP Photography has a convenient process for picture ordering. Students will first take their photos, and then families will receive an email on how to order photos after the pictures are taken. There is no need to fill out an order form ahead of picture day. Students will take two photos and parents will choose which one they prefer after reviewing the proof images that are emailed to them.
In addition, after the photos are taken, families can also manually search for each student by:
- Visiting https://www.vipis.com/
- Clicking View and Order Photos green button on main page
- Searching for the school
- Clicking School Portraits Grades 3K-12 in red box
Ordered photographs will be mailed directly to families’ homes.
For students who are absent on September 8th, the school portrait retake day is Monday, October 20th.

Block 3 (Periods 6 and 7) - Co-Taught with Mrs. Osberg
Class Materials: Binder, 5 Divider Tabs, HEADPHONES/EARBUDS DAILY!, spiral notebook, pencils, and a basic calculator (NO FRACTION KEYS!) 😊
We began to dive into Unit 1: Greatest Common Factor and Least Common Multiple. Students learned how to find the factors of a given number as well as the Greatest Common Factor (GCF) of two or more numbers. Next week, we will continue to work with GCF to rewrite an expression with the Distributive Property and solve word problems as well as find Multiples/ Least Common Multiples of numbers.
Students would benefit from continuing to practice their multiplication facts as well as using their IXL accounts to practice the skills being studied in class. 😊 See your student’s One Note for each day’s IXL skill boosters as well as each day’s “Check List of Completion” that has the expected work to be completed each day. One Note is the best tool to stay connected to what is happening in our math class.
Assessment: Unit 1 Outcome Assessment Tentatively scheduled for Thursday, September 11th

Locker Combination Help!
Students are still working to successfully open their lockers. This will continue to be something that we work on throughout the next few weeks. Support from home is also helpful. Below is a video tutorial that students watched on the first day of school. Continuing to review the process to open a combination lock would be beneficial for any student still working to understand this process.
