September Happenings
Parents, Teachers, and Students,
September means 1st quarter progress reports have been sent to parents, students have classroom routines down pat, and we look longingly toward Homecoming and cooler temperatures. It also means national literacy month, suicide prevention and awareness month, and Hispanic heritage month.
In our first month of school, the media center has circulated 1,125 items to students and teachers, and our Bobcat Reader book club is deep into their first book of the year. We also look forward to celebrating Spanish Storytime every Monday beginning September 22 through October 13. Teens for Healthy Youth is advocating for suicide awareness and prevention with resources around the school, in every newsletter home, and through combined projects with our middle schools. Finally, our Hispanic Heritage Month committee has put together a variety of events to celebrate the rich contributions of Hispanic and Latin cultures. The calendar is pictured below and will be updated weekly as activities are added.
For information on how to participate and support these enriching experiences throughout the month reach out to Ms. Marie Smith at marie.smith@beaufort.k12.sc.us!
For all attendance needs email BLHS-Attendance@beaufort.k12.sc.us

To ensure a safe and secure environment at BCSD athletic events, all spectators and athletes entering our venues will be asked to remove hoods or face coverings that obscure oneβs identity, such as balaclava-style masks. This practice, which is common at collegiate athletic events, will help us maintain safety by ensuring individuals can be easily identified if needed.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in creating a safe and welcoming atmosphere for everyone. Please reach out to District Athletic Director Dr. Carlos Cave for any questions.
