On November 11, at 1:30 p.m., we will celebrate Veterans Day with a special program. We invite any relative or friend of a Jefferson Elementary student who has served or is currently serving our country to join us so we can honor them for their service. Veterans are invited to dress in uniform or join us in red, white, and blue attire! During the program, student leaders will share information about Veterans Day, our special guests will be introduced, and the choir will sing a few songs. Then, we will invite our guests back to classrooms for informal question-and-answer opportunities.

This week, third graders celebrated a significant milestone as they completed their first module of the Wit & Wisdom curriculum. They engaged in an exciting research project focused on ocean animals, diving deep into their habitats, behaviors, and conservation efforts.

Their hard work was showcased in a vibrant aquarium exhibit. Parents, as well as students from other grade levels, were invited to tour the aquarium and learn about the fascinating ocean creatures the third graders had studied. Students not only developed their research skills but also practiced presenting their findings to their peers.

Students had some amazing costumes today but Mr. Genton was the talk of the school- he dressed up as Mr. Palmer and, as luck would have it matched him almost precisely. Thank you to all the parents who provided items for today's celebration and stopped by to see the costume parade!

The Heart and Pride Award recognizes two outstanding staff members each month who make a profound impact on our students and Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools. Families are encourage to nominate a staff member today! The Heart & Pride Nomination Form will remain available year-round and is open to any member of our staff, regardless of position.
