It might be cold, but it’s time to make summer camp plans! The J.O. Wilson PTA is once again hosting the DC Camp Fair. This FREE public event is your one-stop shop for learning about the many DMV-area camp programs. Get more info at www.dccampfair.com.

We can still use your help! If you can donate treats for the bake sale or volunteer in another capacity that day, please sign up here.

This event is FREE and open to all! Make plans to attend, and please help spread the word to your communities outside of J.O. The DC Camp Fair is one of the PTA’s biggest fundraisers, and we want to make sure our camp participants have a large audience of families in attendance. Concessions (pizza, baked goods, and drinks) will be available for sale. Additionally, J.O. Wilson's Girl Scout Troop will be there selling cookies!

Special recognition goes out to our Cardinal Contributors, each of whom will donate a free camp session to benefit a J.O. Wilson student: Adventures on the Hill, ARISE Educational Services, Bravo Zulu Chess, Camp Shakespeare, Capital Reading Club, DC Way Soccer, Future Stars Enrichment Program, iGen Educational Academy, Polite Piggy’s Day Camp, Studio One Dance, Theatre Lab, Tippi Toes Dance, Valley Mill, and Vamonoos Bilingual Mobile Kids Camp.

The PTA is looking for families to volunteer for weeklong shifts to keep the staff lounge in our new space stocked with snacks and drinks. Any donations are hugely appreciated: bags of chips and cookies, cases of soda, popcorn, etc. Sign up for a shift here. You can also reach out to Ms. Winter (Victoria.Winter@k12.dc.gov) with any questions about logistics accessing the lounge in Building 4 of the swing space.

Before the playground on the K Street campus is closed for construction on Feb. 23, we’ll meet up one last time for a school-wide playdate sponsored by the PTA. Come say goodbye to our playground equipment and run around with friends. When we return to our newly modernized school next year, we’ll have an entirely new playground, too
