Academies at Romeo

A few things happened this week that will benefit the students of RHS in the future. First, plans are finalizing to install a 12 x 6 foot “Apprenticeship Wall” in RHS. This state funded installment will highlight all of the local trades and how to access apprenticeship opportunities within those trades. One QR code will direct students to information on the career. A second QR code will direct students to the application page for the apprenticeship.

Secondly, RHS student and staff representatives attended a regional healthcare meeting targeted specifically at local healthcare facilities. The goal was to bring more partners to the table to offer real-world experiences to all of our students in the Health Services Pathway. RHS students and staff shared how partnering works, student success stories and that business involvement is a crucial component in how RHS educates its students.

Early College of Macomb

RHS sophomores are invited to apply to the Early College of Macomb. Early College sends information home to all 10th grade families. This is a program for highly motivated students to attend RHS and Macomb Community College during 11th and 12th grades and then attend Macomb their 13th year. Additional information about the Early College of Macomb program can be found on the Early College website and in their brochure. The application will be available online through the Early College website under the "Prospective Students" tab once the application window opens. The application window is open November 20, 2025-January 10, 2026.

2026-2027 FAFSA Form

The 2026-27 FAFSA is open. All current seniors planning to attend college should be working with their parents/guardians to complete this online application. The FAFSA form connects students to various forms of Federal and State financial aid programs. FAFSA is required for most State of Michigan financial aid programs, including the Michigan Achievement Scholarship. For example, students who complete the FAFSA will have access to free community college tuition through Michigan’s Community College Guarantee, which has no income criteria. Students can complete the FAFSA at StudentAid.gov. For additional information about the FAFSA, please visit our FAFSA resources page. The state of Michigan also offers helpful online presentations that families may register for. Additionally, Oakland University offers virtual financial aid workshops as a resource for all families.
