RPI Band Music Notes

We are on a roll with our kids! Thank you for all of the work you have done to prepare your kids for their band experience. You should be hearing the beginning sounds at home with more sounds and excitement to come this week!

Band takes patience and perseverance. Please be sure to encourage your student to play their instrument and celebrate their successes. All professional musicians began with the squeaks and squawks of elementary band.

This weekend, our high school marching band kicked off their competitive season with a successful performance at the Kent City Invitational, receiving the highest score of all flights and sweeping the caption awards for Best Music Performance, Best Visual Performance, and Best General Effect!

Way to go Rocket Marching Band!

This is a picture of what the shelves look like at school. When kids are in a hurry to catch the bus, they can accidentally grab the wrong instrument. Please be sure to customize your case with stickers and other fun (and removable) customizations. Also, don't forget to fill out the name tag on their case so we know who it belongs to! Thanks!

We are excited to prepare for our Mickey Mouse vacation in Walt Disney World for 2025. This trip is for our Middle School Band students (current 6th grade). Sign-ups will be in October. More information can be found in the link below.

5th Graders...Don't worry, we have great plans for you, too!

Our annual Cookie Dough fundraiser will be coming up in the next couple of weeks. This fundraiser is EXTREMELY important to generate funds for our RPI Band Program. These funds are used to do all of the "extras" that kids have grown to love. From purchasing new instruments, music, and equipment to the endless supply of Cosmic Brownies, we use these funds to reward our kids for their hard work and to purchase necessary band-related supplies and instruments for student success.

In 2025, our Middle School Band will be traveling to Walt Disney World during mid-winter break for a 5 day fun in the sun vacation with Mickey and friends! For 6th Graders, the generated profit will be placed into your Disney account if you choose to go.

5th Graders...NO WORRIES...we have special things in store for your future!
