Pringle Activity Pringle Activity

Can you build a ring using only Pringles chips?

The Pringles Ringle is an engineering challenge in which students create a ring using only Pringles chips, no tape or glue allowed!

The challenge requires a lot of patience as well as careful and precise chip placement. Although, the hardest part of the challenge is not eating all of the chips before finishing the ring.

AVID College Presentation AVID College Presentation

Each of the students researched a college of their choice and did a presentation. It is important in AVID that students are informed about different colleges and major options. They also research the clubs and activities that are offered. They become more aware of tuition and room and board. Some of our students are already interested in historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). This project was a learning opportunity for the students to become experts in the college or university of their choice. Please talk to your child about what school they did their presentation on. Here are examples of their presentations and pictures:

Guardian's Guide: Guardian's Guide:

7th Grade AVID

Thank you so much for all of the support you provide your AVID scholar with at home during their 6th year.

We have enjoyed this year of AVID with your students focusing on their organizational skills, note-taking, public speaking, learning to advocate for themselves, touring colleges, participating in guest panels and preparing them to be successful in high school, college and their chosen future career.

We will continue with them next year in 7th grade AVID. 6th grade was just an introduction to the necessary skills to be college and career ready.

Please reach out to the counselor Mrs. Nelson (nelsont@district65.net) or Ms. Lopez (lopezv@district65.net) and let them know if you would like for your child to be a part of 7th grade AVID. We can not wait to continue to work with you and your child next school year as 7th graders.
