Hi Conway #OneFamily!
I sure hope this newsletter finds you and your family doing well and enjoying the summer with your kiddos! Please tell them we said hello and that we are missing them! This is the first summer edition newsletter to introduce you to our new staff members joining our #OneFamily and to give you a few quick bits of information.
Events to put on your calendar:
- August 2nd: All Conway families will receive an email from their child's teacher welcoming them to their classroom.
- August 4th at 6:00 PM: Kindergarten Open House. Doors will open at 5:45 PM. Presentation will begin at 6:00 PM in the gym. Following the presentation, families will be invited to visit the classroom to meet their child's teacher. The evening will end at 7:30 PM.
- August 8th: 1st Grade - 5th grade Open House. To help with traffic control, we will have two sessions for open house. 1st Session: 4:00 - 5:30 for last names that begin with A - M. 2nd Session: 5:30 - 7:00 for last names that begin with N - Z. If you have a blended family with different last names or you cannot make it to your assigned session.....no worries. Just pick one that works for you. If most people follow these assigned times, we will be fine.
- First Day of School for Kindergarten Only on August 9th: For the first time ever in SCPS, Kindergartners, 6th Graders, and 9th Graders (those going through a major transition) will start school 1 day before everyone else. Kindergartners will come to Conway on Tuesday, August 9th.
- First Day of School for Everyone Else (1st - 5th) on August 10th: All 1st - 5th Graders' first day will be August 10th. Kindergartners will come as well.
We will send a more formal postcard out, but we wanted you to have these dates as soon as possible for your planning.
Have a great week #OneFamily and we will be in touch over the next two weeks.
JR :)
