Principal's Updates

We have been very busy at PJP since our last newsletter.

We were delighted to welcome the Parents and Guardians of our second and third classes to the school for two wonderful evening of entertainment at the PJP Christmas Cracker Shows. Well done to all the performers and a sincere thank you to the teachers and SNAs who prepared them so well for the two events. Thanks to all of the volunteers who came on the nights to ensure everything ran smoothly.

A big Thank You to Santa Claus who took time out of his very busy schedule - he was keen to visit all the classes and to assure everyone that all the boys and girls in PJP are on the nice list!

Yesterday Ms. Bradshaw and her class coordinated the collection of all of our St Vincent de Paul Hampers. Staff members and SVP volunteers delivered everything last night. Our schools generosity ensured over 30 bumper hampers were delivered. Thanks to everyone for all of the support with this project. It was a really special project!

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our PJP families a happy and peaceful Christmas and all the best for the New Year. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on 5th January.

Ms. Markey

Defence Forces Band visit PJP

Thanks to Commandant Ciara Murray, Defence Forces HQ and Sergeant Joe Meade (Defence Forces School of Music) for organising for the Defence Forces Band to perform for the boys, girls and staff at Pope John Paul's School. The band was led by Captain John Carpenter from the Defence Forces School of Music. A full compliment of the band performed festively suitable tunes accompanied by the Defence Forces Pipe Band. A wonderful time was enjoyed by all!

Room 3 World Cup Projects by Ms. McKenna

Room 3 embarked on a journey around the world this week. We began our travels in Japan and ended our journey in Cameroon. All the boys and girls worked really hard creating a project for their world cup team. The boys and girls developed their research skills, explored their country’s culture, history and geographical features and also presented some fun facts about their country’s local food, drink, and sport. The boys and girls showed great enthusiasm and creativity and were excellent presenting them for the rest of their classmates. Well done everyone in room 3.

Thanks to the Parents Association

Thank you to our wonderful Parent's Association for arranging a special treat of a Panto screening for us! We all enjoyed watching Hansel and Gretel.

We were so excited to see the return of our Traditional Jingle Parade this morning. Thanks to the PA for arranging this special walk as well as the local Gardaí. It was great to see so many elves, mums, dads and students arriving to school this morning.

The PA would like to say a big thank you to Centra for the lovely lollipops for all the children!
