Welcome to the 2020-21 school year! I look forward to serving the teachers, staff, students, and families of FHS this year. As you begin to plan for the new year, keep in mind that there are many ways I can help you including:


  • Information Specialist: Let me know what topics you are covering and I can help you find interesting online programs, database resources, audio books and ebooks.
  • Instructional Technology Support: Want to better support your curriculum with technology? Need technology PD? Need help with Google Classroom and other Google tools? Let me know your individual or team needs for instructional technology.

Explore the full collection of databases on our Flushing High School Library website. These articles include lexile levels, text to voice feature and translation services. Lesson plans are available. Explore the Science Tech Lesson Plan which can be adopted for English, Social Studies or Science classes.

SORA APP

Sora App has ebooks on a variety of grade levels, all are accessible to students with their DOE email. Books are on all grade levels, many popular titles, may be borrowed by the entire class at once.

MACKIN VIA Audio Books

FHS was awarded a grant of LGBTQ related audio books. Students must use their DOE email to access these books. Log in to the MackinVia App through the Destiny Catalog. They can listen on the go, once they log in.
