A Note from Mr. King

HTHS Community,

With the first full week of school behind us, I must take a moment and brag on the kids. They have handled the new cell phone ban wonderfully. I am confident that this will benefit our students long-term in many ways. They will likely never admit it, but I think if they are honest, they would agree that it has been a good change. They are socializing more with one another and generally seem more aware of their surroundings.

By all measures the start of school has been smooth. We are certainly happy to have our students back. Thank you to our PTSO and our teachers for all their hard work in putting on the annual Open House! It was great to see so many families come out and meet their students’ teachers. We are looking forward to a wonderful school year!

The FOCUS Act is State Law

“No student may possess a wireless communication device in any public elementary or secondary school building or on the grounds thereof during the instructional day unless the wireless communication device is turned off and stored off their person in a locker, car, or similar storage location.”

All personal technology must remain in one of two places during the instructional day (8:10 am - 3:15pm)

  • Left in your personal vehicle
  • Turned off and in your locker

This includes, but is not limited to: Cell phones, smart watches, tablets, personal laptops, air pods, headphones, gaming devices, or any other portable electronic device that has the capability of exchanging voice, messaging, or other data communication with another electronic device.

TCS & HTHS are not responsible for lost or stolen personal property. While you may bring these items onto campus, students are personally and solely responsible for them.

Parking on Campus

Just a friendly PARKING reminder:

  1. Please make sure you have a Parking Pass and that you are parking in the correct parking spot. This will be STRICTLY enforced as you arrive on campus Monday. If a parking pass has not been purchased, then the vehicle may be subject to being towed
  2. Please make sure that you are not parking in a Faculty Parking spot as they have similar numbers, but different Passes! Faculty Parking is directly behind Visitor’s Parking, behind the gym (near the buses) and along the sides of the buildings. Student Parking is directly across the street from the gym and directly across the street from the Auditorium.
  3. Please make sure you are courteous to your neighbor’s parking spot…………giving them enough room to park.
  4. If you have just received your License and need to register for Parking and pay for a spot, please see the two links below.

School Fee Payments

Trussville City Schools is implementing a new online payment system for all schools. We will now be collecting course and other school fees via My School Bucks. This is the same system we currently use to collect student lunch account payments. Information on this new system will be communicated district-wide soon. Check and cash payments will be accepted at the main office.

The 2025-26 Course Fee Sheet is located on the HTHS website via the following link: https://hths.tcsk12.us/students-and-families/finances-and-fees. Compare student schedules to the fee sheet to determine which fees are due. Please use the HTHS School Fee Questions link on the HTHS website or contact the HTHS Finance Office at (205) 228-4000 with questions or concerns.
