Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
Hello Bulldog Families.
We had a fantastic week at BHS as we recognized both our third quarter Perfect Attendance and Bulldog Award winners! These celebrations, along with a little hint of sunshine, helped get us set up for a fantastic spring break! As a reminder, students will return to BHS on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. The next BHS Express will be sent on Friday, April 10th.
Our high school marching band was once again selected to participate in the Reds Opening Day Parade. On Thursday, our band was accompanied by our own Bulldog Mascot! What a wonderful sign of the changing season!
Our National Honor Society also hosted the blood drive today as many staff members and students donated for a fantastic cause. Thank you to everyone who stepped up for this.
When we return from break, the April schedule moves fast! Please pay particular attention to the “take note” section below concerning the delayed start days, due to End of Course testing, on April 13th, April 14th, April 15th and April 16th.
We hope our students have a safe and restful break!
In service to our Bulldogs.

Hello, Families.
The spring break recharge has finally arrived. Hopefully, the weather is nice during this time. If you have the opportunity to take a trip, please enjoy it and be safe. Once the students return on April 7th, the end of the fourth quarter will fly by.
Congratulations to the Green Glory Marching Band for their appearance again this year in the Reds opening day parade.
Students that still need a parking pass for the last couple months of school can see me. Please do not drive on school grounds without permission.
Lastly, please make sure student drivers are arriving on time. The privilege of driving to school can be revoked per board policy once students accumulate 10 tardies per semester.
Once again, have a safe and relaxing spring break to all.
Joe Moorehead, Dean of Students
Please Take Note of the Following:
- Please take special note of the delayed start days for all students EXCEPT those who will be taking the ELA II EOC tests or the Algebra I EOC tests. ONLY students who are required to take these tests have to arrive at normal time. All students NOT required to take those tests may begin arriving at 9:15 a.m. for our 9:25 a.m. delayed start time. Buses will run at the normal time, so if your student doesn’t drive or have a way to get to school on the delayed start, please have them ride the bus. We will have a location for them to stay in a study hall until the first period begins.

Guardians can track their student's progress and support their journey toward post-secondary success. The attached document gives guardians directions for logging into SchooLinks and viewing their student’s account.

The FAFSA Application is Open!!!!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students entering or attending college for the 2026-27 academic year is up and running! Any student that is thinking about attending any type of education/training after high school should complete the FAFSA - technical school, trade school, community college, public university, or private university. The FAFSA is what determines your eligibility for student loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships - thus, it is VERY important that you complete and submit it. Keep in mind, all students are eligible for student loans! We will continue to share information and helpful resources with you and your family as we receive it!
The Ohio Department of Higher Education would like to share that the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available for all families to complete. Families who want to start filling out the FAFSA now can start the process at studentaid.gov.
For additional assistance with FAFSA completion, please visit itsforyou.org, and look under the “Looking for FAFSA Help?” section for more information
