Mac El and Pipe Creek - February 20, 2026
From the Principal
Our brief taste of warm weather has passed, and winter is reminding us it’s still here! Please be sure your child comes to school with a warm coat and gloves each day. We will continue to go outside for recess when possible, and it can be quite cold while walking to and from buses.
Although this was a short week, it has been a busy and sometimes disrupted one. Changes in weather, days off, and shifting routines can be challenging for students, and we have noticed an increase in behavior concerns. We appreciate your partnership as we continue helping students learn positive ways to handle these challenges.
We are entering an important stretch of the school year as students prepare for IREAD, ILEARN, and IREADY assessments. There is still so much learning ahead! Please remind your child each day to be kind to classmates, ask for help when they need it, and work hard on the lessons their teachers are providing.
Your encouragement at home makes a difference. Thank you for supporting your child—and our school community—as we work together to help every student learn.

IMPORTANT - Changes in Transportation
Contact Front Office at your child's building
If there is a change in your child's transportation, whether they will be picked up or riding a bus, it MUST be communicated with the front office. This can be done by sending a note to school or calling the office. If you call the office, please make sure you speak with a person. There is a central list at each elementary school, which allows us to check when students are unsure and the teacher may not be available. Do not just send a message to the teacher. The office MUST be notified. Thank you!
NOTE: Transportation changes should be in to the office by 2:00 pm.
