Edison Newsletter
April 8th, 2024
Hello Edison family,
I hope you all had an amazing week! Here are a few updates.
Pre-K Transportation Parade: As usual, we had a great turn out of parents and families come out to support our kiddos during the parade. There were some very memorable vehicles in this years parade, several Barbie jeeps, some tractors, several police cars and fire engines, along with a monster truck, and an 18 wheeler!
Edison Super Readers: I spent about half the day on Friday with our amazing Edison Super readers; Dominic Barree, Amilia Wolf, and Addison Wade (As seen from left to right). We had a pizza lunch together, they read to our pre-k students, and helped some of our teachers. These amazing boys and girls know at least 400 high frequency words and over 200 high frequency phrases. We are so proud of them, and I look forward to spending time with another group of Super Readers very soon!
First Grade Concerts: Mark your calendars! Our first-grade students will be showcasing their musical talents in concerts scheduled for April 16th and 17th at the Junior High auditorium starting at 6pm. We invite all parents to join us for these special performances and celebrate the hard work and dedication of our young musicians. Mr. Garcia will be sending out more information on this.
Glow Dance Party! "🎉 Get ready to dance the night away at the Edison Elementary School Dance hosted by the PTO! 🎶 Join us for an evening filled with music, dancing, and tons of fun! Don't forget to bring cash for our exciting raffles and delicious concessions. Capture precious memories with your loved ones at our photo booth - perfect for mother/son, father/daughter, and family photos! 📸 We can't wait to see you there! See you on the dance floor! 💃🕺"

Homework Reminder: I want to take this opportunity to encourage all parents to continue supporting their children with their homework. Your involvement in your child's education plays a crucial role in their academic success. By working together, we can ensure that our students are reaching their full potential.
Parental Involvement: Research consistently shows that students perform better in school when their parents are actively involved in their education. I am proud to share that our school has seen a significant increase in parental engagement over the past year. Let's keep up this positive momentum as we work together to support our children's learning journey.
Summer School Update: I must inform you that there will not be summer school offered this year for attendance recovery. Therefore, it is imperative that your student attend school on time each and every day unless they are sick.
We appreciate all of your support. Have a blessed week!
