Does Kindness Matter???

Good morning to my awesome team,

Welcome back to another week of opportunity within the Warrior Nation. Although we are not face to face right now, and for the next several weeks to come, we still have plenty of business to take care of. In addition to logging into the Canvas, APEX and using Synergy to attend to our academic responsibilities, it is just as important to work on the way we treat others. Now more than ever, as a school family and general community, we need to be careful of how we treat others. We have to be aware that our personal actions, comments and dispositions have a lasting impact on those around us. I found this video on Kindness shared from the perspective of kids. The concept is so simple yet, do we all practice what these brilliant children are speaking about? It is easy to allow impulsivity to lead our lives rather than taking a moment to realize that what we do, say, and how we act truly have a great impact on those around us. I challenge each of you to pause and figure out why KINDNESS really does matter. Can you be an agent of change? Can you be the spark within your circle that creates a positive movement? I say YES! I say each of us can and should be the person who MAKES the difference. All it takes is a moment of reflection and a resolve to be KIND. Have a super week everyone and remember that being cool is being KIND!!!!

Much Love,

Mr. Russell - Cohort Dean

Wake up Warriors of - 2022 - WE have things to do!!!

Top of the morning to each of you. What a great day to be a WCHS Warrior. So, today is our first day of virtual learning and we have 5 days this week to get the heat turned up for education. Remember that you have to log on in each of your classes, on time, beginning at 7:15 am and stay connected and engaged until your last class ends around 2pm or so. Kids, it is so important that you get your mindset in a place of business and taking care of the tasks at hand this week. We have a few weeks left in this semester to boost those scores up and earn every credit that you can. Be sure to reach out for any help that you need and remember that there is NO LOOKING BACK...JUST MOVING FORWARD!!!!

- Never stop trying...

- Never stop believing...

- Never give up on yourself...

- Because you are enough...

Love you ALL,

Amy Moeller - Academic Coach

Front Desk Facts...

From Mrs. Boyd - your Cohort Secretary!!!

Hello to all of our beautiful and intelligent students of WCHS! I wanted to remind those of you who have not had the opportunity to submit your shot records this year that is not too late. Even though we are not physically in school, I still need to have your updated immunizations on file for this school year. When we are told that we may return to in our in person schedule after winter break, I want to ensure each of you are welcomed to return to school and you don't have to be excluded for failure of having this important paperwork on file. Please email me your records, have your doctors office send it to me directly via fax (317-532-6259), or have your parent or guardian drop it off at the welcome desk for me. Missing you already!!!!!

Thank you class of 2022

Mrs. Boyd

Counseling Corner...

From Ms. Reynolds & Mr. Howe...

Welcome back everyone! We both hope that you found some time to rest, enjoy family and friends or simply get away from the grind of the school day. We have been busy getting your second semester schedules in order so each of you are on the right path to graduation. We also wanted to share some needed information for those students who feel a 4 year institution of higher learning will be the path that best fits your needs. Please review the information below and let us know how we can help. Have super week and email with questions comments or concerns about SAT and or ACT related items!

For students planning to attend a 4-year college, there are things you should be doing now to prepare for that transition.

SAT/ACT: College-bound students are advised to take one or both of these tests for the first time during the Spring of their Junior Year. This will give you time to retake the test if necessary before applying for colleges. For more information about the SAT and ACT, we have a Canvas page filled with information to help you get started. You'll find everything from test dates to test preparation resources available to here.

Scholarships: If you're not sure where to look for college scholarships, we've collected a list of reputable scholarship websites, as well as tips and tricks to find what you're looking for. One of the most important things to remember is that you should never have to pay to search for scholarships! There are several free search engines available that will provide you with the same scholarship information as the paid sites. For more information, please visit our scholarships information page for our Junior class.

College Search: Warren Township students have access to a terrific college and career planning program called Naviance. This program is filled with information to help students select a career path and learn how to find their way to that path. Naviance can be accessed using your Clever account. Below is a video detailing how to research colleges using this program.

Talk to the College Admissions Advisor: At Warren Central, we are fortunate to have someone in our building specifically focusing on college admissions and preparation. Mr. Fletcher is available to help with questions, guide students who are unsure what to do next, assist with applications, provide waiver fees for eligible students, and more. He can be reached by email at gfletche@warren.k12.in.us.

We LOVE you 2022...

"The Mental Health Minute"

OK, so I understand that we all have super busy lives and seemingly there is never enough time within the day to get to all the things we need to do. I challenge each of you to find 60 seconds 3x per day to stop and let your mind recover from your daily responsibilities. No music...no phone...no distractions, just 60 seconds of piece and quiet for you and your overall mental health. Trust me...in order to tackle the remainder 23 hours and 57 minutes in the day, take a couple minutes for yourself! Try it....click the timer...close your eyes, take a deep breath and LET GO!!!!!

Much Love,

Mr. Russell
