Please remember that offsite trips are for Pre-K and School Age campers ages 5+, while in-house visits and events are for campers ages 2 and up.
💙 Thank You for an Amazing Summer!
As CampVentures begins to wind down, we want to thank all of our Kiddie Academy of Middletown families for sharing another wonderful summer with us. From field trips and water play to science experiments, art, music, and new friendships, we have loved watching the children explore and experience something new each week.
We’re excited to enjoy every last bit of summer together and look forward to everything the new school year will bring!
Warm Weather Reminders
As the temperatures begin to rise, we are excited to spend more time outdoors! Please take a moment to review a few important reminders to help keep your child safe and comfortable:
- Dress for the Weather 👕
Please send your child in lightweight, weather-appropriate clothing. Layers are always helpful for cooler mornings and warmer afternoons. - Closed-Toe Shoes 👟
For safety on the playground, children should wear closed-toe shoes daily (no sandals or flip flops). - Sunscreen 🌞
Please apply sunscreen to your child before arriving each morning. Please be sure to provide us with a labeled sunscreen & signed sunscreen form for us to apply sunscreen throughout the day. - Extra Clothes 🎒
Warmer weather can mean more outdoor play and messy fun! Please make sure your child has a full set of extra clothes at the center. - Water Bottles 💧
Staying hydrated is important! Send in a labeled water bottle each day.
Character Essentials
We Are Good Citizens
Infants
Young children are exploring with moving their bodies and are feeling more assured of their abilities. As the children develop control of their large muscles, they begin to explore new positions and movements. Young infants need support to develop balance, strength, and coordination. As infants grow, they are able to grab, hold, and manipulate objects, as well as crawl, scoot, and walk with support.
Toddlers
Children at this stage like to experiment with moving their bodies in various ways to gain an understanding of their bodies in space. They are developing balance, coordination, and control through physical activities, such as throwing, kicking, climbing, and jumping. Toddlers are increasing their strength and stamina and can stay engaged in active play for several minutes at a time. Socially and emotionally, child
Twos
At this stage children develop confidence and bravery gradually with supportive, nurturing role models. They are learning these skills through interactions and experiences with others. Selfconfidence is an essential element for a child’s positive social and emotional development. When early preschoolers feel confident, they understand a sense of bravery, and they are more eager to try new things and face new challenges.
Preschool
The goal this month to provide children with the belief and mind-set that they can do anything they set their mind to. With care and encouragement, we can prepare children for the good things in life but also the challenges they may face along the way. In this unit, children will learn ways to develop confidence and to be persistent when faced with adversity. Children will also learn what it takes to be assertive and how to show bravery when facing new experiences and challenges.
- Confidence: believing in one’s own abilities
- Persistence: doing something for an extended period of time, even though it may be difficult or challenging
- Assertiveness: speaking up for oneself and others in a way that is honest and respectful; standing up for one’s rights in a calm and positive way
- Bravery: facing or enduring new experiences and difficult situations with courage
The goal this month is to help the children recognize the inner strength they have in themselves. We will focus on the character traits of confidence, persistence, assertiveness, and bravery to encourage them to believe in themselves as they face future experiences.
