Happy Weekend, Shark Family!

We have a LOT to celebrate as a McKissick Family! First, your Sharks have brought home a new MAST shirt that says Excellent because we were excellent from our SC School Report Card for the 24-25 school year. This is an incredible award because of the growth and achievement that goes into the calculations. I am attaching the link here for you to view the details from the SC State Department! South Carolina School Report Cards We are so proud of our Sharks and the hard work that goes into helping them be successful and reach their fullest potential! That does not happen without family and teachers working together to ensure each one of our students has what they need! So THANK YOU for that partnership!

Also, our school has made it to the Semi-Finalist Round of the Palmetto's Finest Award. This is a prestigious award that only 1 or 2 schools will win this year in South Carolina. The judges will be visiting our school potentially starting on Monday, November 10 through Friday, November 21st. We do not know what day they will come, but they will be visiting all classrooms as they are educators throughout the state as well. We are SO excited to show off all the amazing things that go on in our MAST classrooms everyday, so this is a very exciting time for us! Here is a link that describes the award and process as well. Palmetto's Finest Award I hope everyone has a great weekend and we will see you Monday to continue our awesome journey!

Committed to Success,

Heather Touchberry

Volunteer Training - New Procedures for 2025-2026

We have some exciting news that may help our busy families with meeting our volunteer requirements. We are now offering a VIRTUAL VOLUNTEER TRAINING! Follow the steps in the attached file to be cleared to chaperone for field trips and other school events. Please note that MAST requires that all volunteers have a current background check through our Raptor system (information about how to order is in the attached document). Background checks are good for 3 calendar years. If you have any questions, please contact me at whitneymoore@pickens.k12.sc.us. We look forward to working with you this year!

Also, let me know if you would like to be added to PTO's email distribution list for opportunities to help volunteer through their events and activities this year.
