🍎 From the Principal’s Desk 🍎
Dear Families,
What a week it has been! We made it through a very warm week, and I appreciate everyone’s flexibility and support as we kept our students safe and comfortable.
Just a quick reminder that there will be no school on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. There will also be no students at school on Tuesday, September 8, as our teachers will be participating in a Professional Development Day.
We look forward to welcoming our students back on Wednesday, September 9! Have a wonderful long weekend!
Warmly,
Ashley Tebbe
Volunteer & Visitor Policy
As we continue with our volunteer policy this year, please remember that any adult volunteer who wishes to enter the school building must have a volunteer application on file with the office every school year. After a parent’s second visit to the building, or if they plan to chaperone, assist with a field trip, they are required to complete fingerprinting and a background check through the Central Registration Office. Please plan to complete this process at least 3 weeks prior to the event. This allows adequate time for the background check to be completed and for the appropriate information to be provided to the school administrator for planning purposes. Once completed, your background check is valid for 5 years.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our students, staff, and school community safe. Public schools have implemented these regulations to comply with state and federal safety requirements regarding volunteers and visitors in schools.
Thank you for helping us make safety a priority at Kramer Elementary! ❤️
NOTES FROM THE OFFICE
Student Fees:
Fees have been loaded to Payschools Central If you wish to pay online. You can also pay in the office with cash or check.
Lunch Accounts:
As a reminder, you are able to add funds to your student's lunch account through the Payschools Central system. If your student's account reaches -$50 it will be rolled into your school fees. Please be mindful and keep your student's account current. You can use Talawanda EZ Pay, send a check or cash to the school office to take care of your student's balance.
Free and Reduced:
If you would like to apply for free or reduced lunches, please reach out to the Kramer office or Kramer social worker, Chelsea Pike. We can help walk you through the online application or help you fill out a paper form in the office. If you qualify for FREE lunch, your fees will also be waived. If you qualify for REDUCED, fees will be reduced by 85% and meals will be FREE.
Final Forms:
Remember, if you have any changes to your information (phone number, address, who can pick up your student, etc) throughout the school year, change it in Final Forms! The office is notified of these changes and will update our information. IF you have an address change, you must submit new proof of residency to the office before we will update your address.
Kramer Title Talk
Reading Corner September Newsletter
What is Reading Corner (Title I Reading)?
We would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our Title I Reading Corner Classroom! This is an opportunity for students to receive small-group reading instruction. The Title instructors, Mrs. Geshan, Mrs. Kobermann, and Mrs. Walters, will be working with qualified students for 30 minutes daily to enhance their literacy skills. We will work on targeted reading activities, such as letter naming, phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension.
At the beginning of the school year and again in December, every student in grades K-3 is given a series of assessments used to help pinpoint students who may need a boost to help them become a successful reader. Using this data, students qualify for targeted small group reading instruction. We help students learn letter names and sounds, phonics patterns, oral reading fluency, as well as reading comprehension.
Your child may simply need a beginning of the year boost in skills or they may remain in our care for the entire year. Students will be released from Title I Reading when they consistently meet the grade level benchmark. You are welcome to contact us at any time if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s progress in Reading Corner. geshanc@talawanda.org, kobermanc@talawanda.org or waltersh@talawanda.org

Peachjar
We are excited to announce a new partnership aimed at improving how we share information with you. Talawanda School District is launching Peachjar this 2026-2027 school year! Peachjar is an innovative digital flyer management system. It transitions our schools from paper handouts to electronic flyer delivery, and assists with ADA compliance to meet the new Ohio law mandates in this area.
Why Are We Making the Switch?
Eco-Friendly: Saves thousands of sheets of paper annually.
Highly Convenient: Delivers school and community resources straight to your inbox.
Accessible: View important updates anytime on your phone or computer.
Saves Time: Frees up valuable administrative and classroom instruction time.
What to Expect as a Parent/Community Member:
You do not need to take any action to register. If your email address is on file with the district, Peachjar will automatically create an account for you.
You will receive a weekly digest email containing school-approved flyers.
