Letter from Our Principal

Dear LPS Families,

We had an amazing first week of school! Thank you for sharing your children with us and entrusting us with their education and care.

This week, students have been learning school and classroom expectations, meeting new friends, and reconnecting with friends they already knew. It has been wonderful to see their excitement as we begin the new school year together.

Yesterday, TEA released the accountability scores, and we are excited to announce that LPS Secondary achieved a 14-point increase and is now rated as a B campus! We are incredibly proud of our students and staff for their commitment to ensuring that all our scholars are prepared for the future of their choosing.

We also appreciate your patience as we address technology needs. As a district, we are using Technology Lab to provide technology support. We will continue refining our systems and processes to provide families with better, more efficient customer service.

As a reminder, students will attend school on Fridays throughout the entire month of August.

Sweatshirts are uniform approved and may be worn over regular school uniform. T-shirts are spiritwear approved and may be worn on Spirit days. Ordering closes Aug. 23rd.

Please join us for the Grade Level Curriculum Night

Curriculum Night is an important opportunity for parents and guardians to partner with teachers in supporting their student’s academic success. During the event, families will learn about class expectations, assignments, grading practices, and important routines for the school year. Teachers will also explain how parents can check student grades, monitor academic progress, and stay informed about missing assignments. In addition, families will receive information about helpful resources, support programs, and strategies they can use at home. Your attendance helps build a strong connection between home and school and ensures that your student has the guidance, encouragement, and resources needed to succeed.
