Neptune's News
Happy November!
I trust everyone had a fun, yet safe, weekend. Whether you were out Trick-or-Treating, stayed at home to pass out candy, or just turned off the lights and sat in peace; hopefully, you enjoyed your time.
Yesterday was one of my favorite days of the year...the end of daylight savings time. This is when we turn back our clocks, gaining one hour. I eagerly look forward to that extra hour of sleep every fall; it never seems to come soon enough.
This extra hour of rest should benefit our students as they begin their second round of IXL testing this week. Make sure your child gets plenty of sleep, arrives to school on time, and eats a good breakfast each day. Please encourage them to take their time and try their best. The information we gather from these assessments is extremely valuable. It drives our instruction, helping us see student growth as well as identify areas where academic remediation is needed.

This is an important reminder...Students are not allowed to have any caffeinated products on campus. This includes beverages such as soda, coffee and energy drinks (even at lunch) as well as candy and gum.

Have a wonderful week!

FREE After-school Tutoring
*** STUDENTS MUST BE ENROLLED PRIOR TO ATTENDING TUTORING ***
We are pleased to office tutoring again this year, to all students free of charge.
Tutoring will be offered in reading and math. Tutoring will be data-driven based-on studentsβ performance on school-wide assessments.
Tutoring will begin the week of 9/29/2025 and end on April 30, 2026. The days offered are Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30-4:30.
If students are not picked up by 4:35 they will remain in the office and charges will apply ($1 for each minute late).
There will be no make-up sessions for missed tutoring and no tutoring during school breaks. If a studentβs behavior and/or lack of effort impedes the studentβs ability to learn or prevents others from learning, the parent will be notified by either the tutor or administration. If the behavior occurs again, the student will be dismissed from tutoring. If school closes early for any reason, tutoring will be canceled. Students will be assigned tutoring days of the week based on the tutorβs caseloads by the tutoring team.
