April 13
Hello Team,
We hope you were able to find some time for yourselves this past weekend as we head into this final stretch before April Vacation.
We know how much effort has gone into this past week. Between maintaining your classroom routines and the logistics of administering MCAS, your dedication has been on full display. Thank you for your precision, your patience, and for creating a calm, supportive environment for our students during testing. We know it’s a heavy lift, and we see the hard work you’re putting in to get us across this mid-spring finish line.
With just five days to go before a well-deserved break, let’s keep that momentum strong while also looking out for one another. You have been the "engine" of this district all season, and we want to ensure you head into your time off feeling proud of everything we've accomplished together.
We are so grateful for this team. Let’s make it a great week!
Best,
Pam and Kristen

Opportunities
Nominate an American History Teacher to be the 2026 Massachusetts History Teacher of the Year!
The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History are seeking educators who demonstrate a deep commitment to teaching American history, bring creativity and innovation to the classroom, and effectively use primary sources to engage students in meaningful learning. Teachers in grades K–12 are eligible if they have at least three years of experience and currently teach American history (including state or local history).
Colleagues, parents, students, and administrators are all encouraged to submit nominations. The form takes just a few minutes to complete—nominate a deserving teacher today and help recognize the incredible work happening in classrooms across Massachusetts.
Deadline to nominate: April 30, 2026
Please note: Although the nomination form references “National,” nominees will first compete at the state level.
MAEA Call for Art Educator Award Nominations
Celebrate outstanding art educators, arts supporters, and high school students by nominating them for one of the 2027 MAEA Art Educator Awards. Besides MAEA's Massachusetts Art Educator of the Year, there are over 15 different awards, including Higher Education Preservice Art Educator, Community Arts Art Educator, Rising Star Secondary Student, and Distinguished Service Within and Outside the Profession. Eligibility for the various awards and more information can be found on the nomination page of their website. The submission deadline is June 1, 2026.
Scheduling Events 📅
Many school/district events are happening. It is important to check the master calendar to ensure we are not overlapping. Please do not schedule school events on School Committee dates.
Every school should be adding to the master calendar.
