“Holy Disruption: The Radical Wisdom of James” Begins Sunday with Rev. AA

What if the things that disrupt our lives could become invitations to see God—and ourselves—differently? In his letter to the early church, James offers a wisdom that challenges our expectations, confronts our divisions, reshapes our speech, and reorders our priorities. His words are remarkably relevant for a world filled with uncertainty, polarization, pressure, and competing demands.

Join us for worship on Sunday as Rev. Ashley Anne begins a new sermon series, “Holy Disruption: The Radical Wisdom of James.” We’ll discover how God can use disruption to form us into people of greater wisdom, deeper compassion, gentler speech, humble living, and courageous faith. Holy Disruption invites us to consider not only what disrupts us, but how God might be at work through it.

We spend so much of our lives trying to avoid hardship, inconvenience, and uncertainty. Yet James boldly suggests that trials can become holy ground where God shapes wisdom, perseverance, and maturity. The question is not “How do I avoid disruption?” but “How might God be at work within it?”

October is Socktober! Donate New Socks for Community Partners

October is Socktober and our church is collecting new sock donations for our community partners. This year, donations will support both Denton County Friends of the Family and the Love Thy Neighbor Clothing Assistance Program. New socks are needed in all sizes for women, men, girls, and boys. Last year, the church donated 976 pairs of socks, thanks to your generosity.

A designated basket is located in the Welcome Center to drop off new sock donations through Sunday, October 25. Thank you for your support of Socktober!

Elvis Tribute Artist Kraig Parker Gospel Concert on Sunday

World-premier Elvis tribute artist Kraig Parker will deliver an unforgettable afternoon of Gospel favorites on Sunday, October 4, with some well-known hits too. Tickets are still available for purchase online.

Known for his striking voice and charismatic stage presence, Kraig has amazed audiences worldwide with his authentic tribute to Elvis.

Showtime: 2 p.m. (doors open at 1:30 p.m.)

Churchwide Game Night Trivia Set for October 9

Join us for Game Night Trivia at 6 p.m. Friday, October 9, for an evening of team trivia, laughter, food, and fellowship. There will be prizes for the winning team!

We’ll be serving pizza for dinner, and a love offering will be accepted to help cover the meal. This is an all-ages team event—everyone is welcome, so bring a friend and come ready for some fun!
