Message for the Week:
Message from Mr. Tejkl
Overcoming Change...
Good morning!
I hope you all had a great Sunday and that your afternoon is one that will be enjoyed with whatever activities you have planned! I am not sure where the time has went but we are in the final week of the first quarter! Reflection is always key during this time. I know there are things that I can improve on and I will be taking the opportunity to write these down so I can strive to be a bit better that what was the first quarter. I hope you take the opportunity to do that as well!
Long quote for the week but the theme for this week and to keep in mind is flexibility. We are asked to make sure that we are organized and that we have the correct amount of time and effort dedicated to the tasks that are laid out for the day, week, month, year, etc. However, as we have all encountered, life has a way of throwing curveballs or putting bumps in the road for us to adjust too. I can not tell you how much I appreciate all the flexibility you have when it comes to the daily asks of our school as their can be challenges for all of us. I appreciate our willingness of our staff to take each day as one and brining their best for our students and each other.
What happens if flexibility is not part of our lives? I think the quote says it best that if plants are rigid and inflexible, death is certain. However, if they are soft and yielding, they will be able to prosper. As a science teacher, I find it fascinating that plants/trees are able to grow in the most peculiar spots. I'm sure you have seen the pictures of trees growing in between rocks or how plants bend in certain ways so that they can have the optimal light throughout the day.
Challenges are accepted and life is bent around the challenge that present themselves. Who knew that plants could give us a philosophical view on our daily lives!
This weeks challenge: Who have you told you appreciated?
Have a great rest of your Sunday and I will see you tomorrow!
Quote of the week to reflect on:
"Plants are born tender and pliant; dead, they are brittle and dry. Thus whoever is stiff and inflexible is a disciple of death. Whoever is soft and yielding is a disciple of life. The hard and stiff will be broken. The soft and supple will prevail."
Lao Tzu
Sincerely,
Tucker Tejkl
