The Pinnacle Periodical
Volume 1, Issue 15
October 31, 2024
It's the last day of October! I hope all of our families are safe tonight if they go Trick-or-Treating and have fun. This week was full of some fun stuff too, starting with an outrageously successful Trunk-or-Treat event last Friday, which was made possible by our FANTASTIC PTO. Thank you PTO for all of your hard work coordinating trunks and providing fun and food. Scholars showed their style and flair this week participating in the first Scholar Council Spirit Week and then paraded through the driveline in their awesome Halloween costumes! Check out some of the pictures below.
Also, I have to shout the HUGEST THANK YOU to our families and community. Your participation in our SchoolStore has delivered over $8000 directly into our classrooms for teachers to get new supplies, furniture, activities, books, etc. I am kicking off a month of gratitude a day early by saying how much I appreciate you!

Do You Have an Incoming Kindergartener? Do you know someone who has an incoming kindergartener?
Definitely mark your calendar for Kindergarten RoundUp! Invite friends who would love what Heritage has to offer...can anyone say small class sizes?? Visit our campus and experience some fun activities and crafts as we get ready to start school for the first time.
To help us prepare enough materials, please RSVP.
Calling All Grandparents!
Each scholar is allowed to invite ONE grandparent (or special adult if a grandparent isn't available) to join them for Grandparents breakfast on Wednesday, November 6th. Please make note of these specific times by grade level so we can accommodate our limited space.
KINDER-3RD GRADE- 8:30-9:00 a.m.
4TH-8TH GRADE- 9:15-9:45 a.m.
All grandparents (or adult) will enter through the center gate at the beginning of their designated time (8:30 a.m. or 9:15 a.m.) and meet their scholar in the cafe for a light breakfast. Afterwards grandparents will be allowed a brief visit to the classroom. Please listen for and respond to prompts to exit the campus so we have time to clear the first group in preparation for more grandparents.
LifeTouch Retakes
LifeTouch will be on campus on Tuesday, Nov. 5th
ALL SCHOLARS are getting retakes in order to obtain the best photos for PowerSchool and the yearbook. If you purchased photos already and would like new photos printed, please make sure you return your original photo packet on Tuesday.
If you missed out on ordering photos the first time around, check your scholar's backpack for a new order form.
Scholars are required to wear uniforms for these photos.
It's Time to Plan for Winter Wear
Although it's not cold yet, mornings are getting cooler and hopefully lower temperatures are around the corner. It's time to plan for long-sleeves and outerwear.
REMINDERS
- Long-sleeved polos with our logo can be purchased through our approved vendors.
- Outerwear including sweaters, cardigans, sweatshirts, pull-overs, hoodies, and zip-ups MUST be solid red, navy, or white with no logos, no matter how small. All of our vendors offer outerwear options if you can't find them elsewhere.
- On very cold or rainy days, scholars can wear any heavy jacket, but it must be removed and hung up in the classroom.
Update for MyHotLunchBox starting January 2025
We are sharing early so you have ample time to prepare...
Due to the number of orders received, MyHotLunchBox will only be able to provide us with a two-day option for hot lunch. For that reason, parents will only be able to choose from Streets of New York and Cane's starting January 2025 and hot lunch will only be available two days a week.
Decades Dress Up Day- 11/6
Our November dress up day is an opportunity to celebrate some fun or cringe-worthy fashion from past decades. Whichever decade your scholar decides to represent, please make sure they are in compliance with the following Heritage Academy dress code guidelines:
- check those shorts/skirts lengths- skirts should hit the knee, shorts shouldn't be shorter than 4 in. above the knee.
- hats- if scholars choose to wear a hat to school, it must be removed indoors.
- tops- shirts should always cover the entire chest, and back. Have your scholar lift up their arms...is the shirt still long enough?
- sleeves- no sleeveless tops or tank tops.
We can't wait to see those poodle skirts, leather jackets, baggy jeans, and neon headbands!

Driveline Procedures
Morning driveline begins at 7:30 a.m.
Afternoon driveline is 3:15-3:30 p.m. (gates open at 3:00 p.m.)
RED ARROWS- this is the new kindergarten driveline for pick-up after school only. All kindergarten scholars (with their 1st-8th grade siblings) will be waiting in the courtyard and they will exit through the wooden gates to load their cars. Pull as far forward as possible.
IMPORTANT! Liberty Kids Preschool uses this curb to pick up at 2:45 p.m. Kinder parents cannot start lining up on the curb until 3:00 p.m.
BLACK ARROWS- this will continue to be the driveline for 1st-8th grade pick-up. The gates will open at 3:00 p.m. Please pull as far forward as possible so we can remove traffic from Pinnacle Peak Rd.
Waiting on Pinnacle Peak Rd- cars that are facing WEST need to pull as far off the road and into the dirt as possible while they wait to enter the parking lot.
Out of consideration for other parents who have been waiting in line, please do not drive through and then wait in the parking lot to cut the drive line. We have received multiple complaints from parents who are waiting in the long line. We appreciate everyone doing their part and showing each other courtesy and patience.
Please follow these guidelines for a safe and efficient pick up:
- Have your car tag clearly displayed.
- Pull up to the furthest cone possible.
- If you need to buckle your child, pull forward and off to the side.
- Eyes up, phone down please!
- Show citizenship, patience, and courtesy to other parents & drivers- YOU are setting an example for all of our scholars.
IMPORTANT NOTICE- Student Pick-up Time Limit
After school, scholars should be picked up by 3:30 p.m.
Scholars who are still on campus after 3:30 (and parents are not actively waiting in driveline) will be walked to Hero Club and parents will be charged a $20 non-registration fee plus $2/minute past 3:45 p.m. After two occurrences, your scholar will be enrolled in Hero Club at the monthly fee.
If you know you will frequently arrive later than 3:15, please register your scholar for Hero Club.
