β PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE β
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to the first newsletter for Term 4. I hope everyone had a restful break and is ready for a busy and rewarding final term of the year.
This term began on a very sad note for our school community, with the passing of our much-loved staff member, Mrs Diane Baluyot (Kim). Diane was a valued member of our team who brought kindness, warmth, and dedication to her students and colleagues every day. Her loss has been deeply felt by all of us, especially coming so soon after the passing of Mrs Terry Herd, another much-respected and long-serving member of our school. These two losses have touched our community profoundly, and our thoughts continue to be with their families, friends, and the many students whose lives they impacted.
As we move through the term, weβll continue to support one another and celebrate the wonderful spirit of Regents Park Public School β a place built on care, respect, and connection.
Term 4 is always a busy one, filled with important events and celebrations. Over the coming weeks, there will be end of term assessments, individual student reports, presentation days, PBL reward activities, Kindergarten orientation, Year 6 graduation, and various stage-based end of year activities. We look forward to recognising the hard work and achievements of all our students as we bring another successful school year to a close.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Warm regards,
Jodie Landon
Principal

π 3/4 Emerald in the Spotlight π
Science and 3D Creations
3/4 Emerald turned into a mini maths lab this week as students explored 3D shapes in the most creative way possibleβ¦with playdough and toothpicks!
From cubes to pyramids to prisms, students built, tested and compared their own geometric masterpieces with their learning buddy.
This hands-on investigation helped them understand how faces, edges and vertices all work together to form solid structures.
There was laughter, learning and lots of proud smiles as our young mathematicians discovered that maths really can be shaped by imagination.
Congratulations 3/4 Emerald, you are all amazing and we are so proud of you.

π RESPECT Program π
Our Year 5 and 6 boys are currently participating in the RESPECT Program, which focuses on building positive relationships, understanding respectful behaviour, and promoting empathy and kindness.
During Week 2, we were fortunate to have a group of students from St Joseph Banks visit our school to share their experiences. These students had also completed the RESPECT Program when they were in primary school and were able to provide valuable insights into how it has helped them as theyβve grown older.
The boys had the opportunity to ask thoughtful questions about respect, understanding, and preventing abuse, as well as share their own ideas and beliefs. The visiting students also led some engaging workshops, helping our boys explore what respect looks like in everyday life β at school, at home, and in the community.
It was a meaningful and reflective experience for our students, encouraging open discussion and a deeper understanding of what it truly means to show respect to ourselves and others.
