Cyber Terror!
Learning to be Afraid @ ASTE 2023
ASTE: It's not just tips & tricks
I thought I'd just be learning new tools to share with Kayhi teachers, but a long-time ASTE guest speaker was there to remind us how scary the digital world can be. A nationally recognized speaker and researcher on cyber security and safety, Mr. Lane has a depth of information on current trends and future possibilities.
Presentations at ASTE and the Alaska Library Association Annual Conference (March 2023) included MANY conversations on ChatGPT, so there are resources on this topic as well.

What is a digital footprint?
On the Internet, a digital footprint is the word used to describe the trail, traces or "footprints" that people leave online. This is information transmitted online, such as e-mails and attachments, uploading videos or digital images and social media posts β all of which leave traces of personal information available to others online. Our digital world is permanent.

Common Sense Media: Digital Footprint Intro
What turns up when someone searches you?
Whether at school or away from school, whether talking to friends, family, or school staff, what you say, becomes a part of your online profile. If it is digital (even if it is private) it is possible that your words, images, and videos will become a part of your online footprint. Follow the instructions below to take a look at your online reputation.
