*NEW* Professional Learning Opportunities
In this book Richard Louv links the lack of nature in the lives of young people to some highly concerning childhood trends. He refers to the problem as "Nature Deficit Disorder" and describes how it can result in an increase in ADHD, mental health concerns, lower academic achievement, obesity and more. He also describes growing movements and steps we can take to combat "NDD" in an effort to expose our students to the health benefits of nature. Please note, you will need to purchase your own copy of the book.
Bring live data into your K-12 classroom while simultaneously fostering a deeper understanding
of nature for your students. In this session, you will learn about the benefits of nature, how trail cameras work, curricular uses and ways to acquire them. This PD uses one tool to unite technology, SEL and academic learning under a single umbrella. Participants will also have to adapt the lessons to their own grade level/subject area
