What a way to end October…the Fun Run, Halloween, and a PBIS Assembly! We are so grateful to all of the donors, volunteers, and participants who made Tuesday’s run so successful. We have many great things to look forward to in November. November 11th is Veterans Day, and Weymouth has many special activities planned, including the annual Veterans Day Parade, which will leave Jackson Square at 10:15 am continuing down Broad Street and Middle Street, ending at Town Hall. We wish to thank all veterans, especially those in the Wessagusset community, for the sacrifices they've made and their dedication to our country.

Just a reminder that we students have two days off this week - Tuesday, November 7th (Election Day/Professional Development) and Friday, November 10th (Veterans Day observance).

• Final Boosterthon update from Mrs. McInnes and Mrs. Campbell! Wessagusset Families! Please hear us say a HUGE “Thank you!” to our students, staff, and donors for the incredible Wessagusset Costume Run fundraiser. Here are our final stats:

• We raised $26,026 for our playground fund!
• We had 73% of the platform fees covered by donors (that is $3,483.83 of the $4,778.88 fees which means more money in our pocket!
• We celebrated our community coming together and created unforgettable memories at our Wessagusset Fun Run event!

• The update we’ve all been waiting for - new Wess Gear is available! Check out the new items from here: 3A Gear. The shop will be open until 11/17, and orders will be delivered to school 3 weeks later. Use code PICKUP and all items will be delivered to the school

• Increasing student attendance and decreasing tardiness is one of our goals this year at Wessagusset. Last year 14% of our students were considered chronically absent by the state of Massachusetts, meaning they missed 18 or more days of school. Children who have strong school attendance feel more connected, have stronger friendships and are more likely to graduate from high school. Even missing just 2 days per month can put students at risk for reading below grade level. As we look to improve our daily attendance this year, we are asking for your continued help in ensuring that when your children are healthy they attend school every day. Thank you for your support with this!

• Parent Conferences will be held on November 14th (evening) and November 15th (afternoon). Evening conferences will be in-person, and afternoon conferences will be virtual.

• Half-day Wednesday, November 22th - Dismissal at 11:50

• Thanksgiving Break - November 23rd and 24th.

• Holiday Concert for Grades 3-5: Wednesday December 6th at 10:00am.

A huge thank you to Amy Robbins for not only organizing our very successful Parents Night Out but also for stocking the teachers lounge for November.

Parent Council will be hosting a FREE Bingo event on Monday 11/6 @ 6:30pm in the Wess cafeteria. Come play Bingo and win some prizes! This is NOT a drop off event.

No school on Tuesday 11/7. After you vote take the kiddos to O’Lindy’s Bowling in Quincy to “bowl for a cause” where 10% of what you spend will come back to Wessagusset
