Week 35

May 21, 2026

Hello families!!

I am so excited for our upcoming field trip! It's TODAY! This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to explore and learn outside of the classroom, and I can’t wait to spend the day off campus. Just a few reminders: students are encouraged to wear a walk-a-thon shirt or an NCA-branded PE shirt so they are easy to spot in the crowd of kids. Our class will be eating lunch before we leave, and we will have snack time when we return. If you are not driving your child, make sure you drop their car seat or booster off during arrival. Our staff know about the field trip and are prepared to support with this process as needed. A huge thank you to all the families who are volunteering to help today... your support truly makes this adventure possible and special for our students.

We are checking off end-of-year tasks left and right! The class did an incredible job with Graduation photos, DIBELS Assessments, and MAP testing. Every student gave their best and should be proud of their hard work. After the field trip, our next big events will be the Walk-A-Thon and our end-of-year Aloha to Kindergarten party, quickly followed by Graduation on June 10th. It’s such a busy and exciting time, and we love seeing the students shine in all they do.

This week in class, we focused extra attention on our Bible story. We learned about Zacchaeus and how Jesus responded to him. As a class, we explored how we can be a friend to those who might not always be friendly. Let's face it, we will all have a Zacchaeus or two in our lives. The fruits of the Spirit can help us show kindness and be a friend to everyone, even when it’s challenging.

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, we want to wish each of you a safe and fun time with your loved ones. Let’s also take a moment to honor and remember the brave men and women who have served our country. Their sacrifice allows us to enjoy the freedoms we have today, and we are truly grateful. Wishing everyone a restful and meaningful holiday!

Blessings,
Mrs. Vaandering

Kindergarten Graduation - June 10th!

Graduation is around the corner. Here are the details we know as of right now to help you in your planning. Doors in the sanctuary will open at 6:00pm. Once you have a seat, one parent will bring your student to their classroom at 6:10pm. Graduation will start at 6:30. All classes will be together on the stage for a cute performance. After the performance, each class will receive their diploma. After all classes receive their diplomas, you can pick up your child back at their classroom.

**Please do not leave the ceremony until all 5 classes have graduated. Principals will dismiss you when it is time to pick up your student from the classroom.

In class, we are taking every free moment to incorporate hands-on learning. While we explore famous artists and their specialties, we are busy in class painting, sculpting, drawing, and even weaving... The kids did a fantastic job with this semi-impromptu exercise. I love seeing them create!!!

Bonus THANK YOU to Harrison's amazing dad, who came to help with our Art class and weaving practice!! We love having Watch-Dogs and volunteers!!

15 Activities to Teach Telling Time

It's one of those skills kids are so proud to say they've mastered: "I know how to tell time!" Of course, it's easier these days with digital clocks, but children still need to learn to read analog versions too. Try these fun interactive activities, and your students will be telling time in no time flat.
