Teacher Assignment Letters
Teacher assignment letters for your child will be sent via email for all grades on July 30. These letters will contain important information for the upcoming academic year. We understand the importance of knowing your child's teacher as part of preparing for the new school year. We are committed to providing you with this information in a timely manner.
If you do not receive the teacher assignment email on those dates, please take the following steps:
- Check Your Spam/Junk Folder: Sometimes, automated emails may get filtered into these folders by mistake. Please ensure to check these folders thoroughly.
- Contact Us: If you have checked your spam/junk folder and still have not received the email, please reach out to our school office at 227-203-1500. Our administrative team will be happy to assist you in ensuring you receive the necessary information promptly.
- Update Your Contact Information: To prevent any future communication issues, please ensure that your contact information (email address and phone number) is up to date in our records. You can update your information by contacting the front office.
PLEASE notify the front office ASAP if there are any
changes to your child's mode of transportation
for the upcoming school year.
Each family will receive a new car rider hang tag with a new number.
Please discard the tags issued to you previously.
Please take advantage of the options to prepay your student's meal accounts. The student's name and ID number are required to set up your account on LINQ Connect.
Prepayment of meals protects against forgotten or lost money and allows students to move through the serving lines more quickly. Parents with multiple children in the school system can also go to LINQ Connect to transfer money between sibling's accounts.
Parents can also send cash or a check to their child’s school cafeteria to pay for school meals. Parents can indicate “Meals Only” on the check if they prefer their child not purchase a la carte items. When a check is received indicating “Meals Only,” a notation will be made on the child’s account to alert the food services staff.
Our first PTA meeting of the year will be Thursday, August 20th at 6pm in the school media center. We would love to see you there! We will be voting on the budget and discussing the events we have planned for the year.
To join the PTA (which gives you the right to vote at meetings as well as helping to support the events we have during the year) you can go to our web page at this link FORMS | Myersville ES. There is a form to fill out and an option to pay the $10.00 per member fee.
If you have any questions please reach out to us at myersvillepta@gmail.com.

Parent Volunteers
FCPS is fortunate to have family and community members join efforts in supporting our students and schools with their time and talents. There are many ways to get involved and volunteer in and out of our schools.
For more information on the volunteer program, go to- https://www.fcps.org/families_students/family_community_involvement/volunteer_in_fcps.
Because safety is of utmost importance, all volunteers, regardless of their role, are required to complete mandatory volunteer training. Please keep in mind that this is an annual process (July-June) that takes place and must be completed every school year. Please be aware that the process can take 72 hours and MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR to you volunteering for FCPS. If you need technical support with trainings contact unifiedtalent@fcps.org. If you have questions about the volunteer approval process or your status email FCPSVolunteers@fcps.org.
School Attendance for 2026-2027
Maryland Law requires that a written excuse be provided each time that your child is absent. The excuse should include the date of the absence, your child’s first and last name, and the reason for the absence. Please either send in a handwritten note or you can email MYES.Attendance@fcps.org.
Absences considered lawful and therefore excused, as described in the Public School Laws and Code of Bylaws of the Maryland State Board of Education, are:
Illness of the student
Death in the immediate family
Court summons
Hazardous weather condition
Work or activity accepted by the school authorities
Observance of religious holiday up to 3 days
State emergency
Suspension
Lack of authorized transportation
Health exclusion
Other emergency (judgment of Superintendent or designee)
FCPS attendance policies will be fully implemented and parent notification will be sent for any student who is on track to becoming or is already deemed chronically absent or tardy. Notification will begin at 5 days and when a student accumulates 10 or more absences within the school year. Chronic absenteeism is defined as missing 10 percent or more of school days due to absence for any reason- both lawful and unlawful. This amounts to 18 absences total in a single school year.
