Lutherville LabReportWhat's gone down & what's coming up at theleopards' lair.

May 12, 2023

Lutherville Families,

We completed our MCAP testing this week and are so very proud of the efforts that our Leopards in grades 3-5 put in to show what they have learned this year! We are also excited to get back to our regularly scheduled programming next week. If your child missed a day of testing, we will continue make-up testing next week.

A highlight of this week was Rita's Spirit Night on a beautiful evening. There were so many joyful photos from the event posted by the PTA and a sampling below. Mrs. Levy's Kindergarten class enjoyed their field trip to the Baltimore Museum of Art on Thursday and our other Kindergarten groups are excited for their upcoming trips there as well.

Please note that due to the weather forecast, the Fun Run scheduled for Saturday is postponed! More information below.

Finally, a few other items:

  • Lead in Drinking Water testing results response information is attached.
  • A flyer for the May 23rd meeting of the Central Area Advisory Council is attached.
  • Friday is a 1:05 dismissal for students and our Kindergarten Registration is on all day in the gym. Please pass information along to any future leopards.
  • Our Sports Days are just a few weeks away. Please consider volunteering to support a great day for our students.

In partnership,

-Mr. McComb

Calendar Reminders

May 13th -- LL FUN RUN

May 19th -- 1:05 Dismissal & Kindergarten Roundup

May 23rd -- Spring Concert

May 26 -- Sports Day (grades 3-5)

The Lutherville Lab Fun Run has been postponed until next Saturday, May 20th at 1pm.

The weather forecast is not going to agree with us running tomorrow. The good news is that gives everyone one more week to join in the fun!

We still have space available for people to enter the fun run. This is a ½ mile course for our younger students and a 1 mile course for everyone else. Walk, jog, or run -- your choice!

Adults - feel free to participate by participating with your younger child or join in the grade 6+ category.

Prizes for the top place finishers in grade categories. And popsicles will be available for all participants.

Here is the link to run.

And if you can't make it, but still want to support this cause - here is the link to donate.

Thank you,

Lutherville Lab PTA

"Gym-NEWS-ium” PE News and Notes from Mr. Bruns

Lutherville Lab Sports Day Grades 3-5, (9:30am-3:30pm) Friday, May 26, 2023 (Rain Date, May 30)

Sports Day for K-2, (1pm-3:40pm) Friday, June 2, 2023(Rain Date, June 5)

The following are a few things to keep in mind when helping your child get ready for school on Sports Day:

  • You must wear sneakers (no sandal type of shoes with any part of the foot exposed)

  • Wear comfortable play clothes and sunscreen.

  • Bring a water bottle filled with water with your name on it (we will have numerous opportunities to refill water bottles)

  • All students must bring an extra t-shirt/towel to participate in the water relay / water balloon toss station.

We would love for parents and guardians to join us on Sports Day. We are looking for volunteers to help run the activities on the day of the event. Volunteers will be assigned to an area where they will organize the children for a game/ activity. The equipment will be set up for volunteers with easy-to-follow directions. The children have played the majority of the games, so the students will be familiar with many of the activities. I appreciate any help making Sports Day possible. All volunteers must be on the approved volunteer list. The following is a link to be on the volunteer list. https://cos.bcps.org/departments/communications/family_and_community_engagement/b_c_p_s_volunteers
