LATEST UPDATES
We will have weekly updates on progress and celebrations on the More Than a Field project. The Raymond Central Community Foundation is a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization ran by volunteers. This is a separate entity from Raymond Central Public Schools.
New News
- Last week we passed the $1 million mark in funds and support raised for the project. The $1 million includes individual/family donations, business sponsorships, fundraising efforts, grants and donated in-kind services. The original quoted cost of phase one was $6.3 million. We are now at a point that we will be able to complete phase 1 for under $2 million. That means we are still fundraising but we are hoping to continue to show progress in steps so we are ready to move forward without delay.
- Pouring of the driveway completed last week. Connection to Agnew Road will take place this week and need 5 days to cure before driveway can be used. Expect the driveway to be opened the week of October 27th.
- There will be construction of the entrance so please be aware as you are entering and leaving the school. Agnew will most likely be a one lane available road as they are pouring the final few feet of concrete to connect Agnew to the new driveway. Please drive with care.
- Traffic flow changes will be made once the entrance is fully operational.
- We are continuing to fundraise for Phase 1 of our Project. We will start construction as we feel confident we have the funding necessary to complete each step.
- Silt fence has been removed from a majority of the new area except for areas that are still in need of erosion control.
- The Donor Tile Wall is in production and we will install it at the entrance of the new facility once it is complete. Thank you to TMCO for donating this portion so all of the family and individual donations could go straight to the project.
Old News
- The school board approved a lease purchase option for this project. TO BE CLEAR, this lease purchase is not to fund the project by the school. It allows our foundation to extend donations and sponsorships over the course over a few years. This allows us to have a business commit to a total amount and spread the payments over 3-5 years. The FOUNDATION is responsible for the payments on the lease purchase and ONLY funds that have a contract will be allowed to be drawn. The total lease purchase amount may not ever get used. This gives the foundation flexibility to move forward with the project and allow sponsors to spread payments over a few years.
- Phase 1 of the project is still being funded without the use of taxpayer dollars. We are very proud of this fact.
- We will be sending out information over the next couple of months to get commitments and interest from local individuals and businesses that would like to be part of the construction process by utilizing In-Kind work to help accomplish our goal.
