Vikings,

Halloween is a fun time to show creativity—but we must also keep Fremd safe, respectful, and welcoming for everyone. If you plan to wear a costume on Friday, October 30, please follow these expectations:

  • No costumes that are offensive or stereotype any group.
  • No references to violence, drugs, alcohol, or anything sexual.
  • No weapons, weapon-like props, face paint, or masks.
  • Costumes must not disrupt class or movement through the halls.

Students who don’t follow these guidelines will be referred to the Intervention Office. If you’re unsure about your costume, check with your administrator first.

Be smart, be creative, and show what it means to be a Viking!

Effective October 13, 2026, students will no longer be permitted to bring e-bikes or e-scooters onto District 211 property. Additionally, visitors will not be permitted to operate these devices while on any District 211 property.

What families should know:

  • Traditional, non-motorized bicycles will continue to be permitted. Students must walk their bicycles while on school property and secure them at designated bicycle racks.
  • Students who bring an e-bike or e-scooter onto District property will be directed to contact a parent or guardian to arrange for its prompt removal. Repeated or unsafe violations may result in school disciplinary action.
  • District-approved mobility devices used as part of an accessibility accommodation are not affected by this restriction.
  • Families currently relying on an e-bike or e-scooter for their students' transportation should make alternative arrangements before October 13, 2026.
