MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL BANKS MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL BANKS

Dear Lindblom Families,

We respect, honor, and appreciate the veterans within our school community. Veterans have sacrificed their time, expertise, resources, and (in some cases) their lives to fight for the liberties and freedoms that we often take for granted. Thank you for your service.

We are pleased to announce that overall PreACT scores for our current juniors increased from 19.1 in the Spring to a 21.1 in the Fall, already outpacing last year’s juniors who averaged a 20.7 on the Spring ACT. By content area, Reading grew from 21.8 to 24.8, English from 17.2 to 19.4, Math from 18.1 to 19.2, and Science from 18.9 to 20.6. This growth is a collective result of our students’ hard work, high-quality instruction in our classrooms, as well as support during colloquium day and after school. We value rigorous and engaging curriculum paired with strong, culturally responsive, instructional practices and our students are positively responding to this shift. Please work with your students to review their score report and reflect on opportunities for continued growth.

Together we rise onward and upward.

Student Spotlight

Congratulations to the Lindblom students of Peace Through Sport Virtual Exchange with students from Yemen. This group of students presented about their communities - their strengths, resources, and the challenges they see—and shared ideas for community projects that could promote positive change through sports.

Mr. Abughoush shares that our students were outstanding. They listened deeply, asked thoughtful questions, and represented Lindblom with maturity, pride, and genuine curiosity. I am very proud of how they showed up as leaders and global citizens.

Congratulations to Constance Doss! Constance is the LTA for AP U.S. History, working alongside mentor teacher Cecilia Soto Perales. She has been a wonderful advocate for her students. Constance created an email etiquette presentation that has helped students communicate more effectively with staff. Recently, she provided emotional support to a student who was navigating big feelings about their journey in class, helping them get back on track. Her dedication, care, and leadership make a meaningful difference every day.

Attendance Matters

REMINDER: Our school-wide attendance goal is 92%. Seniors are tipping the scale below at the moment. Let's do our part and make being in school a priority.

  • Students must ALWAYS have LMSA School ID on them, whether physical or electronic.

  • Students must manage their time during the passing period to ensure they make it to class on time.

    • Students who are tardy to class will need to visit the tardy scanners located on each floor to scan in and retrieve a tardy pass.

    • Students must arrive in class within three (3) minutes from the time indicated on the tardy pass.

    • Any student without a pass in the hallway after the initial hall sweep will be escorted to the nearest tardy station to receive a pass.

October Birthdays

We love joy and to show it, students are gifted with a birthday cupcake during their month of birth.
