BASH Link Crew is excited to welcome the Class of 2030 to Boyertown Area Senior High for Freshman Orientation on Thursday, August 20. Beginning at 12:30 p.m., students will gather in the Bear Gym for a brief welcome before spending the afternoon getting to know their new school and classmates.

  • Participate in fun team-building activities with Link Leaders and fellow freshmen.
  • Tour Boyertown Area Senior High School.
  • Learn about the many clubs, activities, and opportunities available at BASH.

Parents and/or guardians are asked not to attend orientation, as this is a student-only event. Students should be dropped off at the New Auditorium doors anytime from 12:15p.m.-12:30 p.m. To help everyone stay active and comfortable throughout the afternoon, students should wear comfortable clothing and leave bags, backpacks, and purses at home if possible.

Students will be dismissed using the following exits:

  • Last Names Gp–Oc: Main Entrance
  • Last Names Od–Z: Athletic Entrance

The evening of Thursday, August 20, families are encouraged to return to BASH for our Back-to-School Night beginning at 6:00 p.m. Parents/guardians and freshmen will have the opportunity to tour the building, meet teachers, visit the Club Fair, and attend informational presentations. Additional details, including times and locations, will be shared as the event approaches.

Update: 8-14-2026, 9th Grade Laptop Distribution

Immediately following Orientation, students will receive their laptops. Please make sure your student has their BASD ID with them; this will expedite the process. If they do not have a middle school ID, please make sure they know their BASD ID number. We ask that all guardians please remain outside and follow our dismissal process posted above.

Laptops will be distributed by last name in the following three locations. Students must pick up their own district device; they will not be able to pick up for other family members or friends. Students will be asked to remain in their pickup locations until the conclusion of the login process on the device. Devices will not function properly if students do not properly log into the machine at the time of pickup. This process should only take a few minutes per student/device.

Students will receive their devices in the following locations based on the spelling of their last name:

  • Last Names A–Go: Device Pickup Cafe, dismissal via the East Entrance
  • Last Names Gp–Oc: Device Pickup: FAUD, dismissal via the Main Entrance
  • Last Names Od–Z: Device Pickup: Cub Gym, dismissal Athletic Entrance

For those unable to attend Orientation, laptops will be available for pick up the IT office at BASH between 2:30pm-4:00pm or on the first day of school.

We look forward to welcoming the Class of 2030 to BASH and kicking off a fantastic school year!

Hallway Pass System

BASH Students & Families,

Our goal is to minimize the number of students in the hallways and restrooms while increasing the time students spend in the classroom. As a result, BASH will be continue with the color-coded lanyard hallway pass system from the 2025-2026 school year. Each classroom has been provided with two lanyards that are color coded and labeled for the classroom. Students will be required to utilize the restroom assigned to their classroom while also signing out. Each restroom has been equipped with hooks outside that correlate to the max capacity of the restroom. Once the hooks are filled with lanyards, students must remain outside until someone exits to enter. In addition to all restrooms being open in the building, single use restrooms in attendance, nurse, art, and other areas of the building will continue to be available. Students who need to go to the nurse or counseling, will be provided a paper pass by the teacher. As a reminder, per BASD School Board Policy 237, the board prohibits the use of electronic device in locker rooms, bathrooms, health suites, and other changing areas at any time. Failure to comply with Board Policy 237 will result in automatic suspension.

Thank you,

BASH Admin.

BASH Technology Policy

Students,

Cell Phones and Electronic Devices

Electronic devices, including cell phones, air pods, and smartwatches, are permitted before HR, between classes, during lunch, and in Open Campus. Students may NOT use their electronic devices during any other course, including study hall. Students are expected to have their devices away in their bag, or utilize a classroom wall caddy, at the start of class. Students may NOT have their device out at any time during instruction (bell to bell), nor when they leave the classroom, unless they are not returning. There are no warnings. Students will be expected to follow this policy starting on the first day of school. Failure to comply will result in a detention for each offense. Students will be provided wired headphones during the first week of school that can be used for educational purposes in the classroom as instructed by the teacher. Patterns of infractions will result in progressive disciplinary action.

  1. Students may use their technology before HR and between classes (the 4-mins they receive to switch classes).

BASH Discipline Reminders

Dear Students,

It is the goal of BASH to foster good work habits and promote self-discipline. In order to do so, the administration will respond to inappropriate student behaviors through one or more of the following: denial of any privileges, school service, study hall, detention, community service, in-school suspension (ISS), out of school suspension (OSS), expulsion, or placement of the student in an alternative educational setting which could include the BASD Virtual program.

In certain cases, notification of the local police department may also be warranted. When consequences are issued, the administration will consider a student’s intent, cooperation, past behavior, and honesty. Students who are dishonest will receive more severe consequences than students who are cooperative and honest. In addition, students who repeatedly violate the same rule(s) will receive more severe consequences.

Other examples of behavior that could warrant discipline are abusive language, being in an unauthorized area, disruptive behavior, repeatedly being unprepared for class, leaving an area without permission, and loitering in the building. The following are examples of disciplinary actions that could result in a 10 day Out of School Suspension (OSS) which includes an Informal Hearing and removal for 45 school days from the building: Fights, Assault, Disorderly Conduct, Weapons, Threats, Institutional Vandalism, and possession/use/distribution of Drugs/Alcohol. These infractions are also examples of behaviors that could lead to expulsion.

These lists are not meant to be comprehensive. The administration reserves the right to issue student discipline, withhold activities, and/or suspend students that commit any inappropriate act while under school jurisdiction. This may include but is not limited to, dances, school trips, student parking, and any other school-related functions. This model is designed to become progressively more severe and to attempt to find a successful consequence. For this reason, students are encouraged to take responsibility for their actions and learn from their mistakes as they develop into productive citizens.

We encourage all students to familiarize themselves with the updated discipline resolution procedures in the student handbook. It is important for everyone to understand their rights and responsibilities in maintaining a positive and respectful school environment.

Thank you,

BASH Admin.
