Students will be working on their Individualized Learning Plans (ILP) and meeting with school counselors to keep track of their completed courses.
Elective Options
Incoming freshmen will have the option to select up to two electives for the first year in high school. These classes will be in addition to their English, math, science, social studies, and health/PE. Typically, students will take an arts and humanities class during their freshman year to complete their graduation requirement. These options include:
- Art
- Band (please see information from Mr. Allen, CCHS Band Director)
- History or Art/Music Appreciation
- Theater
Students may also select electives from the following courses:
- Agriculture ( Career pathway course to prepare for career readiness)
- Criminal Justice (Career pathway course to prepare for career readiness)
- Education (Career pathway course to prepare for career readiness)
- History
- JAG (Jobs for America's Graduates)
- Spanish
If your student needs to be in an intervention class to help support his or her learning, he or she will be automatically placed in these classes for one elective.
Freshman Scheduling Form
Each freshman will schedule using this form. Students will meet with a high school counselor concerning their interests. They will then take a copy of their scheduling sheet home to be signed. Please look at and discuss options with your student and email lisa.frank@carroll.kyschools.us if you have any specific questions concerning scheduling.
Freshman Options to Consider
Dual Credit Class Offerings at CCHS
Incoming freshmen may be able to take dual credit classes at CCHS by enrolling in college level criminal justice classes or education classes. Each of these options will allow students to take 2 dual credit classes as a freshman.
Please be aware that dual credit courses may have tuition and fees associated with them. To take dual credit classes as a freshman, middle school teacher or staff approval will be required. The name of any student who requests the dual credit option will be submitted by the school counselor for approval.
