Superintendents' Message

Dear Shoreline Community,

March is here, and we are at that time of year where we find ourselves moving between days of sunshine and days of rain. In our classrooms we are working to squeeze all of the learning we can into the days between mid-winter and spring break. We have begun our planning for next year, considering how we update our goals, policies, and practices to respond to the needs of our students and families, using the information that we have gathered so far this year.

To that end, please take a few moments to complete the California Parent Survey for your child’s school site, which was sent out last week, and will be used to help us better understand your input into the programs and policies within our district. Your feedback is critical to our planning process, and we are stronger as a district when we all work together as a community to meet the needs of our students.

In addition, a big focus of the next month will be to begin the development of our new, Shoreline Expanded Learning program, which will include our after school program and our summer and intersession program. Our first step will be to hire a Director to lead the development of the program. We greatly appreciate our partnership with the YMCA over the last few years, and their efforts to support our afterschool and summer programs. We are looking forward to the opportunity to develop a program that is more tailored to our specific needs, and that is more affordable for all.

I hope you have a wonderful March,

Adam Jennings

Superintendent

Shoreline Unified School District

In Homeroom, THS students are engaging in another lesson on digital citizenship/digital literacy, building on the digital values activity done in November.

Shoreline Unified Hosts Second Annual Reclassification Ceremony

On March 5th, Shoreline Unified proudly hosted its second annual reclassification ceremony at Tomales High School. This special event honored 14 students from across our district who successfully reclassified this year, recognizing their dedication and academic achievement.

Superintendent Adam Jennings showed his admiration for the students’ efforts by addressing attendees in Spanish, a language he is not fluent in—demonstrating his deep respect and commitment to our multilingual community.

We were also honored to welcome Adriana Quintana as our guest speaker. A former SUSD student and current Program Coordinator for Bridge the Gap at Tomales High School, Adriana shared her personal journey through our district and higher education as an English Learner. She emphasized the importance of a strong support system when navigating this process and expressed deep gratitude to her mother for being her biggest motivator. Adriana encouraged all students to recognize their potential and stay motivated to pursue their dreams.

We are incredibly proud of our students and look forward to continuing this tradition of celebrating their hard work and perseverance!

California School Parent Survey

Your feedback is important. The California School Parent Survey helps us understand what’s working and where we can improve. This information guides our district and schools in creating the best learning environment for all students.

Please click the link for your student's school below. If you have more than one student at the same school, complete the survey for your oldest student. If you have children at different schools, please complete one survey per school. The survey is completely confidential.

The deadline to complete the survey is Friday, March 14. Thank you for taking a few minutes to share your thoughts. We truly appreciate your support.
