Despite last weekend’s blizzard, Springton Lake Middle School was proudly represented at the Pennsylvania Schools to Watch Conference. In addition to being re-designated as a Pennsylvania Middle School of Excellence, we brought home multiple awards. Congratulations to our Promising Practitioners Award recipients: Mr. Matthew Burba, Mr. Luke Lewis, and Ms. Madi Bucci. We also congratulate our Joan Jarrett Student Award winners, Molly Petka and Brigid Heller, who were recognized for their leadership, citizenship, and positive contributions to the school community. A School to Watch recognition event will be held later this spring to celebrate these accomplishments. Until then, several pictures are included below.
Looking ahead, Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held after school on Wednesday, March 4, and throughout the day on Thursday, March 5. There will be no school on Friday, March 6. With just one month remaining in Marking Period 3, now is an excellent time to review academic progress in Schoology and HAC in preparation for next week’s conferences.
SpongeBob the Musical is currently running, with performances tonight and on Saturday at 1:00 PM. Our students had a fantastic opening night, and their hard work was clearly evident in a wonderful performance. Additional information is included below.

We work to carry out this mission by exhibiting respect for diversity among our student body, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual identity, disability, socioeconomic class, and religion. The mission of F.A.R.E. is to promote and encourage diversity awareness, provide family support, engage in networking, and create deeper unity and understanding within the Rose Tree Media School District and the surrounding community.
Click on the FARE Information document to learn about upcoming opportunities to get involved and meeting information.
Please also refer to the school calendar for meeting dates and any rescheduling.
Cell Phones and Electronic Devices
To keep classrooms focused and learning uninterrupted, all wireless devices, including cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, and similar devices, must be OFF and AWAY during the school day unless a teacher gives a specific academic reason to use them. Students will be reminded each morning to power down their devices.
Please let your child know that you will not be texting or calling during school hours. If a student needs to reach a parent, a staff member can provide permission. In an emergency, the main office is the best way to get in touch. More details are available in the Springton Lake Student Handbook.
Thank you for helping us create a safe, distraction-free learning environment!
