IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT WORK PERMITS- If you are in need of a work permit you can get those in the Walker Career Center office or the cohort office on side B. You will receive a yellow card and a white "Intent to Employ" form. Be sure to fill out each form completely and return both to the cohort office to be reviewed by Mr. Russell. The Intent to Employ form must be signed by the employer, student and a parent or legal guardian. After Mr. Russell approves and signs your work permit forms, you will then turn them in to the WCC office before or after school to receive your completed work permit. Finally, you are eligible to work and earn a paycheck! Be sure to save a little bit as well for a rainy day...lol.
Thank you class of 2022
Mrs. Boyd
Are You Ready to "Gear Up"?
Counseling Corner...
We know that life throws many challenges at students and especially now that we only get to see most of you on a limited basis. We wanted to ensure you know that WE are still here for YOU and will do whatever it takes to help you through the day, the week, and this journey of high school. Here are a couple quick tips for managing stress and adding healthy aspects to your overall day. Hang in there 2022...WE will get through this TOGETHER!
1. Eat Healthy - foods high in vitamins and minerals boost energy and decrease toxins in your body.
2. Get Plenty of Sleep - most of us need 7 to 10 hours of sleep eat night for the body to recover and be ready for the next day.
3. Be Active - your body needs 20 to 30 minutes a day to help process food and maintain muscle strength.
4. Engage in Healthy Hobbies - reading, puzzles, music, or whatever you enjoy can help you reset your energy levels and better prepare you for the next day.
5. Volunteer in the Community - finding ways to provide a service to others at no cost can increase your energy level and help you see the good in giving.
6. Be Grateful - simply taking time to be thankful and reflective of the things that are going well can be beneficial. It can be difficult at times, but pausing for a moment and looking at the glass half full can change your overall perspective.
We LOVE you 2022...
