We are so excited to welcome you to campus this Friday for our first Family Friday of the year!

We'll kick things off with our regular Friday morning courtyard routine, including our principal handshake and attendance goals, now proudly named "The Parliament" (a group of owls gathered together, just like our Hardy family). From there, families will head into classrooms to read with their children before joining us for a few important gatherings.

Friday's Schedule:

• 7:45-7:50 – Courtyard Celebration ("The Parliament")
• 7:50-8:00 – Reading in classrooms
• 8:00-8:15 – PTA General Association Meeting, including budget approval (stay tuned for a second meeting soon to review the Fall Carnival and Apex Jog-A-Thon)
• 8:15 – Community Input Session on the next principal selection, led by Dr. Cazary, Area B Superintendent

I will be off campus during the community input session so that you all have the space to speak openly about your hopes and dreams for Hardy's next leader.

We are working to secure additional parking at SDSU for Friday given the anticipated turnout, and we hope to share a link with more details in the next few days.

I know this transition holds a lot of emotion for many of us, and I want you to know I feel it too. Hardy has been such a meaningful part of my life these past several years, and the love this community has shown me is something I will carry with me always. Over the next two weeks, I'll be going back and forth between Hardy and Pershing as I transition into my new role, with Friday, September 11 being my final day at Hardy.

To our Hardy staff and families: the strength of this school has never rested on one leader. It lives in the systems we've built together, our staff, our PTA, our Dad's Club, and every family who shows up for this community. That collective spirit is what makes Hardy, Hardy, and that is not going anywhere. While this chapter is closing for me, please know how deeply grateful I am for every one of you.

I am not going far, and I will always be cheering for Hardy from just down the road.

Thank you so much for attending our Everyone A Reader training yesterday! We are so excited to officially launch this program at Hardy.

We currently have more students in need of reading intervention than we have family volunteers to support them. If you've been considering joining us, there is still time! We would love to have you. Please reach out to achedgecock27@gmail.com

After-school enrichment programs are now open for registration! We are welcoming several beloved providers back and are still exploring new providers to bring to our community. Keep an eye out for additional registration links opening soon.

Stick around after Family Friday! After spending time in your child's classroom, families will head to the auditorium for our first PTA General Meeting of the year, followed by a community input session on the leadership criteria for the principal position, hosted by Dr. Cazary, Area B Superintendent.

At the PTA meeting, we’ll share what’s ahead, answer questions, and vote on PTA business, including approval of our 2026–27 budget.

Only current PTA members can vote, so make sure your membership is active for the new school year. It’s just $15 per person for the year.

Our first Family Dine-Out of the year is this Wednesday at Woodstock’s Pizza SDSU! Come grab dinner, support Hardy, and connect with other families.

Dads Club will also hold its first get-together there at 6:30pm Everyone and anyone interested in getting involved with Dads Club is welcome.

Our first Dads Club Movie Night of the year is coming up next Friday!
