May 2025

Yá'át'ééh Monument Valley High School Cougar Families! May is here and with that, a gratefulness for SPRING and the many good happenings here at MVHS.

As I ponder our six years here (Mrs. Gandy and myself) we are infinitely grateful to this community for allowing us to finish our careers here at MVHS. It has truly been a wonderful experience and will be one of the most difficult places to leave for our next journey. We are both retiring at the end of the year and moving to be nearer to family. Thank you to everyone for being so kind and caring to us. First and foremost my office staff, you are the best. You have created an environment where everyone feels welcomed. Thank you for your continued work Mr. Fitzgerald in serving the needs of our students, faculty, staff, and community. I appreciate you. Teachers and staff, stay the course, you got this. Our kids need you, your care, and your trust. Always remember to do "What's best for kids"!

Ahéhee’ and I wish only the best for the future of MVHS and this beautiful community.

With this being said, please welcome Miss James as your next principal. She will do a fantastic job in supporting the needs of our students, faculty, staff, and this community. Our positive thoughts go out to her transition to principal.

Lastly, this will be the final newsletter for the school year. Miss James will be working on a summer newsletter to share out in July.

Teacher Appreciation Week 2025 will be celebrated May 12 - 16 Teacher Appreciation Week 2025 will be celebrated May 12 - 16

Please take some time to thank a teacher for the dedication they demonstrate to our students. Some simple ways to do so would be to email them a simple thank you for your work, or send a card or note. When they are out in the community at the gas station or grocery store, just take a moment and say thank you. Teachers, thank you for your commitment to helping our students learn on a daily basis!!!
