"Be HERE to get THERE!" - Attendance Data
"Be HERE to get THERE!" - Attendance Focus
Next week is Attendance Awareness Week. Our spirit days follow.
MES Year to Date Attendance percentage as of the end of January is 93.27%.
Our goal is to raise that number. Preliminary data for the first days of February shows the number declining.
February attendance has been 89.87%, dropping the Year to Data attendance to 93.13%.
There are many days in February left to improve our attendance and earn the Glow AttenDANCE where they will boogie and play glow-y games with classmates under black lights.

Magnificent Mustangs
Kingston (pictured by his artwork) has been showing immense responsibility in class. He uses his background knowledge to add great insights into our daily discussions. He is always on task and following along with our lessons and diligent about completing his work on Schoology! Kingston sets a great example for others displaying ways in which to follow our daily expectations!
Ruby and Aubrey picked up a huge pile of papers that Ms. Roach dropped on my classroom floor. They were not even asked to do so and were kind enough to help me out! They showed immense kindness!
Sadie (pictured by artwork) her and Aby (not pictured) worked together to take the lunch orders for their class. I was unfamiliar with their daily routine, when watching their homeroom, and they both stepped in and took care of it! This showed great responsibility, teamwork and leadership!

Rise Up Award Nominations
The St. Mary’s County Citizens’ Advisory Committee for Special Education (CACSE) Rise Up Awards: The Rise Up Award recognizes a teacher, administrator, therapist, assistant to an educator, or anyone in the Special Education system who has truly gone to extraordinary efforts to contribute, in a compassionate and caring way, to the growth, happiness, and general well-being of our children with disabilities. If you are a parent or caregiver who would like to nominate a person who has positively impacted your child’s life, please consider nominating them for the Rise Up Award. When educators go above and beyond to help our children “Rise Up” and exceed in life, it is our pleasure to recognize and thank them for the amazing jobs that they do. (The nomination deadline is March 7, 2025)
