Good Morning Memorial Families,
I hope that everyone enjoyed the weekend and the spring-like weather that is continuing. This year we see the return of enrichment programming and field trips, thanks to the work of our cultural arts committee and especially our PTO liaison, Aimee Osterhus. We begin this week with a fourth grade in school science program, and we are looking forward to a few more in school events for other grade levels next week.
Parents will have access to the trimester two report cards on Friday, March 22nd. You will need to log into the Powerschool Parent Portal in order to view the report card. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions. We utilize a standards-based report card and the descriptors are based on end of the year expectations. The goal is for your child to be meeting the standards (indicated by a 3 on the report card) by the end of the year. As you look over the report card, engage your child in conversation about the social, emotional, and behavioral grades as much as the academics. At the elementary level, learning how to learn sets children up for success as they get older. Reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions about grades or comments.
