To celebrate physical wellness, join the Decatur community on Saturday, March 14th at the Decatur Education Foundation’s Tour Decatur fun run.

Register today at Tour Decatur.

Wellness is an active process of making choices that lead to a healthy and fulfilling life. Every day, people make choices about how they spend their time, what they eat, and who they spend time with. These decisions create a healthy lifestyle.

This week as a family, walk and talk or have a conversation at dinner about the following:

Physical wellness refers to taking care of ourselves by getting physical activity, having good personal hygiene, making healthy food and drink choices, sleep, and being safe. What physical wellness habits does your family already have? Name a physical wellness habit your family would like to start or continue doing (i.e. walk to/from school, try a new vegetable each week, set a bedtime to get eight hours of sleep).

đź’› WINTER BREAK READ ALOUD BOOKMARKS đź’›

Winter break is an excellent time to enjoy a slower pace and some fun adventures, but don't forget to read everyday! During this break, we're focusing on read alouds, so every student is receiving a personalized bookmark on which they can color a heart each time they read aloud or are read aloud to. These bookmarks are for students to keep and are not part of a contest or assignment.

Have fun and read, read, read!
