Message From Admin
Peace and blessings to you all!
In this week’s Gospel, John the Baptist points to Jesus and proclaims, “Here is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world.” This simple but powerful declaration reminds us that our faith is not just something we talk about; it is something we recognize and live out each day. In our school, this means learning to see Christ in one another; in the classroom, in the hallway, during exams, practices, and conversations. We are called to grow not only in knowledge, but also in compassion, responsibility, and hope.
As a school community, we are also reminded that caring for one another includes caring for our mental health. This Wednesday, January 21, we acknowledge Bell Let’s Talk Day, a time to encourage open, respectful conversations about mental well-being and to remind students that they are never alone. Reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
A few important reminders:
- Please check the exam schedule below
- Wednesday, January 21 at 6:30 p.m. – School Council Meeting in the library. All parents and guardians are warmly encouraged to attend.
- January 28 is now an Instructional Day
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. May we continue to recognize Christ, the Lamb of God, in our school community and in one another.
Have a wonderful week, and God bless.
With gratitude,
The STMY Administration Team

Winter is Here!
In the past couple of weeks, we have noticed that many of our students have not been dressed properly for the frigid and snowy conditions that are upon us. As winter weather sets in, we ask all students to dress appropriately for cold, snowy, and icy conditions. Warm coats, hats, gloves, and proper footwear are essential to ensure safety and comfort while traveling to and from school and during outdoor activities. While we appreciate our students' expression of style, Birkenstocks are best saved for warmer weather! They pair better with sunshine than snowbanks! Students will not be allowed to participate in fieldtrips, sports activities, etc., unless they are properly dressed! Thank you for your support in helping our students stay safe, warm, and ready to learn this winter.

Riley Warawa to Participate in World's Longest Hockey Game!
Riley Warawa, one of our Gr. 12 students at St. Mary's has the opportunity and the privilege to participate in the World Longest Hockey Game starting on February 5th and he needs your support!
On Thursday, February 5th, forty players, hundreds of volunteers, and countless fans will come together at centre ice to prove they have fire in their hearts and ice in their veins, with one shared goal: a future free of cancer.
The world's longest hockey game is an annual charity event in Alberta, Canada, organized by Brent Saik, which most recently lasted 262 continuous hours (11 days) in early 2024, setting a new Guinness World Record for a marathon hockey game to raise funds for children's cancer research and care, with players rotating shifts on an outdoor rink through extreme cold. Previous records by the same event included 252 hours in 2021, breaking their own 2018 record of 251 hours, with players enduring freezing temperatures to support the Alberta Children's Hospital and Cure Cancer Foundation.
If you would like to help Riley fundraise for this event, please click his fundraising link or scan the QR Code below. Way to go Riley! We are so proud to be rooting for you!
