BIST is a program that was created through Ozanam, a residential facility in Kansas City, for students with significant behavioral concerns. BIST is what Ozanam implements to work with their students and it WORKS. Our Behavior Interventions Support Team is a unique outreach program of Ozanam that grew out of a desire to keep at-risk students in a community school. The purpose of BIST is to partner with students who are struggling, and help them be accountable for their actions through GRACE & ACCOUNTABILITY. Our desire is to see students make good choices and have the promising lives that they want and deserve.
This Training is Designed To:
- Provide elementary/secondary school personnel with a comprehensive organizational, behavioral and curricular approach to support students who exhibit challenging behaviors

- Develop effective communication skills with parents and other staff members
- Devise strategies that enhance the efficiency of instructional time
