or the start of their senior year, check out this
– BACK-TO-SCHOOL CHECKLIST –
so your child is prepared for the first day of school...
✔ CLASS SCHEDULES AND TEACHER ASSIGNMENTS
- ParentVUE and StudentVUE can be accessed through a desktop computer or mobile app. The system shows you student schedules, grades, attendance, assignments, and more.
- Students can access their StudentVUE account with their WCPS login credentials.
If you are not able to access your ParentVUE account,
please contact your child's school for assistance.
✔ BELL SCHEDULE
It’s important to arrive at school on time and be prepared to learn every day. Know when your child’s school day begins and ends.
✔ SCHOOL SUPPLY LISTS
Everyone is ready to go shopping! But not all schools require students to bring school supplies on the first day of school.
Schools may send supply lists directly to families. Keep an eye out for emails and text messages!
If your child attends a Title I school, supplies are provided for all students.
✔ BUS ROUTES
In the meantime, if your child needs to be picked up or dropped off at a bus stop that is different from your home address, you need to complete a Transportation Location Change (TLC) form and submit it to the WCPS Transportation Department.
Students can have a maximum of two consistent AM pick-up locations and two consistent PM drop-off locations.
TLC forms must be turned in by August 10, 2025,
in order to have your child’s transportation arrangements made for the first day of school.
TLC forms are only valid for the current school year.
A new TLC form is required for each new school year.
✔ SCHOOL YEAR CALENDAR
- We suggest printing and/or saving the 2025-2026 WCPS calendar to remember early dismissals, holidays, closings, & more!
✔ NEW THIS YEAR: CHANGES TO STUDENT DRESS CODE
WCPS recently updated the student dress code regulation. This school year, students will not be permitted to wear hats, hoods, or head coverings inside school buildings.
Schools are making a coordinated effort to remind students of appropriate clothing for school, and WCPS needs our parents and caregivers to support this initiative. Please encourage your students to do a “Fit Check” to ensure their outfit is “in check” with the school dress code each morning.

✔ CHROMEBOOK INSURANCE
WCPS offers insurance for WCPS-issued student Chromebooks through Securranty. For $25.95, families can purchase coverage for accidental damage, loss, or theft of student Chromebooks. There’s no deductible, no limit on claims, and WCPS will still handle all repairs and replacements.
Without insurance, families may be responsible for repair or replacement fees ranging from $25 to $400. Insurance must be purchased in advance and is available at securranty.com/wcpsmd.
