SHOUT OUT!
We want to give a HUGE shout out to Walter Opuszynski and Phil Matheson for cutting dead standing trees and making our ECO forest safer for students!! They took down the looming "Kid Crusher" tree that was enormous and hung up in another very high tree. We have new benches cut from the downed trees, cut sections of logs to work with and tree cookies! We are super grateful for their time and ability!
Thank you Walter and Phil!! 📣

Destination Imagination
Teamwork and Creativity for Children and Youth
https://www.destinationimagination.org/
We are hoping to start Destination Imagination teams for kids and teens this fall in Washington Central afterschool programs. This Challenge Experience is a fun way to do STEAM (STEM + Arts) projects and build social-emotional skills through teamwork.
Each group will do lots of creative activities, and collaborate on a project Challenge in one of these genres: Scientific, Technical, Engineering, Fine Arts, Improvisation, or Service Learning. Teams present their Challenge solutions in March at the State Tournament in Barre.
To make this happen for our students, we need adult Team Managers to supervise and facilitate team meetings once or twice a week after school. Vermont DI provides training, resources, and ongoing consultation. Are you interested? Please contact vtdicreativity@gmail.com

This is a HUGE weekend for soccer in Calais! All of our teams are playing in Jamborees this week. The games are in many different places and at many different times - so it will be a busy Saturday for our soccer players. Let’s wish them luck as the season nears the end.
