Dear Lodi Primary Families,

Welcome to a brand-new school year! I hope your summer was filled with rest, fun, and wonderful memories. As we open our doors, I am filled with genuine excitement to see our halls buzzing with energy, big smiles, and the joy of learning.

At Lodi Primary, we know that a child’s success relies on a strong, supportive partnership between home and school. You are your child’s first and most important teacher, and when we work together, our students thrive. We are deeply committed to communicating openly and working hand-in-hand with you every step of the way.

To help us keep that connection strong, we encourage open and direct communication. If you ever have a question, concern, or problem that arises regarding your child’s classroom experience, please reach out to their classroom teacher first. They know your child best in the school setting and are always your best first resource. If you work together and feel a solution hasn’t been found, my door is always open, and I am more than happy to help!

More than anything, I am thrilled to build deep, meaningful relationships with our students and families this year. Getting to know your children—their passions, their humor, and their unique learning styles—is the absolute best part of my job. Lodi Primary already has so many amazing things to offer, and I am eager to build on that strong foundation together with all of you.

Just a couple of quick notes to help the start of the year run smoothly:

  • After School Plans: Please be sure to complete the after school form as soon as possible. The form is here. After School Plans form
  • Arrival/Dismissal: Please be sure to review our arrival and dismissal plans (referenced in detail below) so that you know how to support your child. All families received two signs for their car window with their child’s name and grade at Open House. If you pick your child up, you will need to post this sign in the passenger window. We ask you to please follow these guidelines below so that we can ensure your child's safety. This includes asking families that drop off/pick up students in the parent loop to please stay in the car and let staff open the doors for students.
  • Online Fee: Please pay your school fees for the 2026-2027 school year that can be found through the parent portal in Infinite Campus.

Thank you for sharing your incredible children with us. Let’s make this school year our best one yet!

Warm Regards,

Mrs. Brings

Attendance Matters Attendance Matters

Showing up for school on a regular basis has a huge impact on a student's academic success starting in kindergarten and continuing through high school. Even as children grow older and become more independent, families play a key role in making sure students get to school safely every day and understand why attendance is so important to success in school and life.

Each year, the Department of Public Instruction sends us feedback on our attendance through our school report card. One type of absence that does not count against our school is when there are days that are excused medically by a doctor. When your child has a doctor's appointment, please be proactive in bringing us a note from them when your student returns. In addition, these absences do not count towards the 10 days that families can excuse their student from school.

This is a reminder of the importance of reporting an absence if a student is going to be missing from school. Families can complete the Absence Form (click here) instead of calling school or emailing the office. If you have questions or are unable to complete this form you can still call the office at (608) 592-3855.

The form is also accessible through the https://primary.lodi.k12.wi.us/ page with a link that says “Report an Absence” on the main page.

Student Drop Off/ Pick Up: What to Do to Keep EVERYONE safe

All families will get a sign for their car window with their child’s name and grade at our Open House evenings. If you pick your child up, you will need to post this sign in the passenger window.

Thank you!

What to Do and What NOT to Do

If your child can get in and out of the car on their own - use the family loop.

  • Pull forward and stay in your car. Once they are near the front entrance, they can get out on their own.

If your child CANNOT get in and out of the car on their own - use the parking lot.
  • Park your car in the lot and walk your child to the flagpole. Students will then walk into the school independently.

DO NOT USE THE FAMILY LOOP IF YOU ARE GOING TO GET OUT OF YOUR CAR TO HELP YOUR CHILD. The safety of all is of utmost importance. In order to prevent students or adults from getting hit, we ask that no one gets out of their car if they are using the loop. In addition, this helps keep the line moving.

Thank you for doing your part to keep everyone safe!!!

Health Services play an important role to help promote wellness and remove or reduce health related barriers to learning.

Here are a few reminders to make sure your student is ready for the school year.

  • Water Bottle: Please make sure that your student is bringing a water bottle everyday. Keeping hydrated is a simple way to keep the body hydrated. When a person is dehydrated they can have headaches, feel dizzy, and have poor concentration.

  • Lip Balm: If your student needs chapstick then please provide so they can keep in their backpack as needed. We no longer will be carrying lip balm.

  • Sunscreen: If your student needs sunscreen then please apply before the start of school if needed.

  • Medication:

    • Any prescribed medication for school we will need your medical provider to complete the medication form with their signature along with a parent signature. Medication must be in the original container for the school to accept.

    • Any over-the-counter medication will need the parent to complete the over the counter medication form. Medication must be in the original container for the school to accept. The school must follow the directions on the container. If the dosage is out of the therapeutic range then we would need a physician order.

NEW FAMILY RESOURCE: BULLYING PREVENTION & SUPPORT NEW FAMILY RESOURCE: BULLYING PREVENTION & SUPPORT

Last school year, we worked with families to identify ways we could better support students and families in preventing and responding to bullying. One result of that collaboration is our Bullying Information for Families webpage.

The site provides families with information about:

  • How to report concerns
  • What happens after a report
  • How to support your child
  • What our schools are doing to prevent bullying.

You do not need to determine whether something meets the definition of bullying before reaching out. If something doesn't seem right, please let us know. Early communication helps us support students and address concerns.

We encourage all families to take a few minutes to review the Lodi Primary School Family & Student Handbook. It includes important information about school expectations, procedures, and resources.

Creating a positive school experience is a partnership between students, families, and school staff, and understanding our shared expectations helps us start the year strong.
