Want to Win an XBox, Smart TV, Nintendo Switch and Other Great Prizes?
We have a new raffle coming up this spring based on iLearn performance. Students in grades 3 - 8 ALL have access to Khan Academy to help them prepare for the test and support the learning going on in the classroom! Khan Academy doesn't only give them lessons, it is full of videos for instruction as well as an AI tutor in Khanmigo! Khanmigo is a great tool to help you as well as your students with homework at home. Have your student show you what is all in Khan and what an AMAZING tool this is!!
Ukulele Donors Choose
We do a ukulele unit in 4th and 5th grade for music. We have slowly started to change out our original class set for nicer ukuleles. Our old set of off-brand ukuleles have warped and the tuning pegs no longer keep their pitch. It becomes frustrating for the students. We use ukuleles in 4th and 5th grade to learn about chords and learn about accompaniment. Students use these instruments to begin playing music with 3-5 different parts. These skills that they develop in class with the ukuleles give students' life-long confidence. Our 4th and 5th grade students love the ukulele. Please help us complete our class set.

School Clubs Require A Physical On File
If your child is interested in doing an after school club that involves physical activity we need to have a physical on file. This is due to not having a nurse at the building after school hours. You can print the Physical Form from the link below or use any Physical Form from your doctor's office. Please see the flyer below for information. We do have several fun after school clubs all year long, some starting very soon!

Car Riders
- Car riders are dropped off/picked up in the back of the school and enter/exit Door 11
- Parents need to stay in the car line and pull around the circle as directed by the superviosors when dropping off and picking up students.
- If you would like to park, you will need to park in Lot C (The Fenced Lot in back) and walk your student to the sidewalk. Parents walk students to the loading doc road and students walk to the Door 11 from there.
- Parents should NOT park in Lot A (front lot) and walk/pick up students at the door. This is where our buses pull through and creates a dangerous situation if parked there.
- Door 11 will remain open till 8:55, after that please walk to the front, Door 1
Walkers
- Students who walk to school should enter Door 7 (the same door as bus riders)
- Door 7 will remain open until 8:45, if it is after this time please come to the front, Door 1
Breakfast at School
If you would like your child to have breakfast at school we need to have them here by 8:30. We dismiss down to the classroom and the bell rings at 8:55. Our doors open at 8:30 for students to come in and eat before heading to class.
End Of Day Transportation
Please Make Sure Changes to End of Day Transportation Are Done By 1:30 pm
Please make sure you are communicating with the classroom teacher how your student goes home at the end of the day and if there are changes. We need to have a note sent in with the student in the morning if they are not going home their normal way. If this needs to be changed during the school day you need to call the office at 219-947-7869 by 1:30 pm.
PLEASE DO NOT JUST EMAIL OR MESSAGE THE TEACHER, THEY MAY NOT SEE THIS AND WE WANT TO BE SURE YOUR STUDENT GETS HOME SAFELY.

Bus Safety
As we start school, it is important for the safety of our children to be aware of our school buses.
The stop arm and blinking lights mean “STOP”. To disregard the stop arm is a misdemeanor and mandatory court appearance. The Hobart Police Department has shared that law allows the police to use the bus driver’s observations to issue a citation to the registered owner of the vehicle.
Our ultimate goal is a safe commute for children to and from school.
How To Report An Absence
If your child isn't feeling well, please keep him or her at home. You must report the absence to the school before 10:00 AM. Click the link below to learn how to report an absence.
